Q102 member nations
I advise against listing a series of links to a region's member nations for the following reasons:
- It's a bunch of ugly red links. A better list would "Region members with wiki pages".
- You may be thinking of adding stub pages of all your region-mates, but NSwiki:Community decisions considers that spamming.
- regional memberships change all the time, and it's pointless to add nations that might just be visiting for a day or a week, or to add puppets that don't have any actual player activity. We'd really rather that the wiki not be updated constantly with information that doesn't add anything to overall level of knowledge.
- The NS Economy and Region links in every infobox have a full list of nations. Why duplicate?
For your consideration. → Fris Θtalk 16:44, 9 Dec 2004 (GMT)
Reply OK thank you! I appreciate you help, new at this and there is alot to take in. --Nevareion 17:27, 9 Dec 2004 (GMT)
Re: Q102 - I changed your category back to Category:Q102. It's correct for an article to belong to its own factbook. It's not correct for an article to belong to Category:Factbooks, which is exclusively for subcategories (not articles). → Fris Θtalk 18:07, 10 Dec 2004 (GMT)
- OK. I thought I had understood what I had to do so thanks for the correction. I hope I have added my sub category correctly :) --Nevareion 19:46, 10 Dec 2004 (GMT)
- Nah, ya blew it. :) I've fixed it though. You have two different factbooks now, Category:Nevareion and Category:Q102. Probably one of them would have been enough, but it's fine. Nevareion is no longer a subcat of Q102, it's a factbook of its own for your national stuff. You and your regionmates should add Category:Q102 to your nationpages if they want, plus any articles written that address regional happenings should go there as well. What we want to avoid is tons of nested sub-categories or a bunch of circular references. We'll keep an eye on you and poke at you with a pointy stick if you start to drift off into weird directions. → Fris Θtalk 20:09, 10 Dec 2004 (GMT)
- LOL, thanks, I set up the Q102 cat as a couple of other people from my region have expressed an interest in making their own pages and my nation cat as I would like to add a couple more pages to it. Really appreciate the help and I hope I don't cause you too many headaches! Oh and I am passing all this on to those regionmates and I will try to help them avoid my mistakes (I get to be guinea pig ;) )--Nevareion 20:18, 10 Dec 2004 (GMT)
