Thanks for the info.  The CACE edits have been reverted and [[User:24.235.226.13]] hasn't counter-reverted them, so I'm not going to really deal with that.  However, the [[Pure Evil]] situation is a different story.  I'm not familiar at all with the situation, so I've made a minor edit (mostly formatting) to the body of the article and slapped an NPOV tag on top.  The appropriate place to discuss the specifics of the situation is now [[Talk:Pure Evil]], and I'm confident that a consensus can be reached.

I don't like to block or warn anybody without clear disregard for the policies of NSwiki, so I won't take any sysop-level action at this time - however, I'll monitor the situation. --[[User:Goobergunch|Goobergunch]]|[[User talk:Goobergunch|?]] 16:28, 8 Oct 2004 (GMT)

:Bit of wiki-lore here - rather than signing documents by putting your name in the Subject block, tag your post with four tildes: <nowiki>- ~~~~</nowiki>.  That datestamps it gives your reader a direct link to you and your talk page, like this one => [[User:Frisbeeteria|Frisbeeteria]] 04:46, 10 Oct 2004 (GMT)

Am I allowed to sign it like this? I find it more ... well, it designates one message from another.

[[User:Pudding|Pudding]]!

: The only problem with signing it like that is that it takes people to your (empty) [[Pudding]] nationpage, rather than your [[User:Pudding]] page.  It's less useful. - [[User:Frisbeeteria|Frisbeeteria]] 05:31, 10 Oct 2004 (GMT)

Hey ... look at that. Gotcha. Solved, as you can see above. Pudding!

:I find it pretty annoying, though - it creates a new section, and when you're trying to preserve section headings it destroys them.  I don't mind bold, but please don't create new section breaks.  --[[User:Goobergunch|Goobergunch]]|[[User talk:Goobergunch|?]] 23:03, 13 Oct 2004 (GMT)

Why not?

:Because it completely destroys the subject structure of the page.  <nowiki>== whatever ==</nowiki> is supposed to be a subject heading, not a signature. --[[User:Goobergunch|Goobergunch]]|[[User talk:Goobergunch|?]] 01:45, 18 Oct 2004 (GMT)

It's a discussion page, there are no other subjects, and people can figure it out for themselves. There's no need for your to be dictating how other sign their posts since it's not creating any problems.

:There ARE other subjects, and it IS creating problems.  When you sign in the Section Head box, it creates a Table of Contents entry, and that throws off the TOC for any other subjects on the page.  NSwiki policy is to sign your posts, not a section heading, and you are the only one not following it.  Please follow accepted board policy on this one.  [[User:Frisbeeteria|&rarr; ''Frisbeeteria'']] [[User talk:Frisbeeteria|&Theta;<small>talk</small>]] 02:45, 18 Oct 2004 (GMT)

I don't see anything saying where I can put my signature, only that sigs should only be used in discussion pages.

Look, 2 sysops (3 now) have asked you nicely so far not to do it because it destroys the subject structure of the page. (Just look at the 'table of contents' up there. If there was a header with a vote it would be totally confusing.) It is not a big deal, just a common convention. It does not take more effort or anything. I'm sure we can add it as a rule to the list of policies if it makes you feel better but that really should not be neccecery IMO. --[[User:Knootoss|Knoot]] 11:21, 18 Oct 2004 (GMT)
