Just one quick heads-up on some of the red links in your articles. Check NSwiki:naming conventions, please. For consistency and convenience, we're asking that all articles get created with the fully spelled name, not the acronym. See Page editing for good ways to display the acronym for convenience, but still link to the full name. Thanks. → Fris Θtalk 03:54, 14 Nov 2004 (GMT)

adding categories and back links

I was looking at Hypermatter and some of your other recent articles. Interesting stuff, but how does it relate to NationStates? I'm sure it does, but I can't tell how from reading the article. Here are a few suggestions.

  1. Add all new pages to a category. You might want to make a factbook for your nation, or perhaps you can use existing categories like Category:Hardware. I realise it's not an exact fit, but it's the closest we can come (and we don't want a ton of new categories to try and fit all possible theories). Best bet is a factbook. You need one.
  2. Back link to your other pages. It can be as simple as, "... as used in [[Technocratic Republics]" or as complicated as "... as used in the warp-core elements of the Technocratic Republics war fleet as evidenced in the Battle of Zmarg versus the CoreWorlds combined space navy." Pages without back links become Dead End pages, and seldom get read or referred to. Pages without links to them are Orphaned pages. Those will never be seen except by random chance. Links are good.
  3. Not all links are good. Linking to the same term multiple times in a dcoument just looks messy. The only link in Hypermatter is three links to Neutronium. One is plenty.

That's it for now. Keep posting articles - it's interesting stuff. → Fris Θtalk 18:23, 15 Nov 2004 (GMT)

You have two articles, Ghul and Gryphon, that are members of Category:The Resurgent Dream. There isn't a nation article on that, nor do the two articles have any links to or from any other page in the wiki. Neither page has anything that makes it specifically NS related. Neither page has any indication that these species belong to any given nation. What's the deal?

Would you mind tying them into the rest of the wiki (by fleshing out the articles or creating and linking The Resurgent Dream) or putting them up for deletion? As it is now, they are on many of my 'bad' lists (dead end pages, orphaned pages, non NS pages, unclaimed pages, open category pages, etc.) Makes it hard to do those sysop janitor thingies that I so enjoy doing. Thanks. → Fris Θtalk 17:12, 19 Nov 2004 (GMT)

Blanking

I've reverted your blanking of article Borgonortha-class Command Vessel. Please do not replace NSwiki pages with blank content. Blank pages are harmful to NSwiki because they have a tendency to confuse users. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. Thanks for contributing to NSwiki! Aridd 10:53, 4 June 2007 (GMT)
