The Utah Joint Mobile Offshore Base is a Battle Island that can be found in the Great Salt Lake in Kotaka. In earlier days, the JMOB served as a launch platform for aircraft and missiles against the advancing Japanese troops in what would later become Aurono. The base was submergable to hide it from eventual Japanese counterstrikes. When the war was over and Independant Midwest was a devastated wasteland, the lake dried out and the deserted platform was left to rust in the salty sands. It still serves as an emergency shelter to Kotakan citizens in Salt Lake City, who would not reach the Mountain Shelters in the Wasatch Range in time in case of an attack. In its active duty times, the base housed the nation's single squadron of Fairchild F6II Brigands, which had been redeployed from the Navajo border to defend Salt Lake City when the Japanese invaded. Several operational ircraft are still on the platform, maintained by the Kotaka Imperial Air Armada. Some have been removed to contribute technology and material to Kotaka's own aircraft research, while others have been removed by Mitsubishi and being studied. The base is also said to be haunted by the being Abadon.
