History
Beginnings
The proud nation of Uzbekistan and Solomon was not always the crown jewel of Southern Carteria. Originally Uzbekistan (comprising the mountainous, northern part of the nation) was little more than a series of tribal colonies. It was not until the Middle Ages that the great leader Aubertus Khan unified these by force. Thus, the Empire of Uzbekistan was born. However, to the south, the Kingdom of Solomon was still an independant country, blissfully ignorant of it's northern neighbours. Solomon spanned the tip of the Solomon Penninsula, and extended into the Solomon Islands. Suddenly, around the turn of the 18th century, a great famine hit the Kingdom of Solomon, and in their desperation, the people turned to Uzbekistan for help. Instead of helping, Uzbekistan simply annexed the weakened Solomon, forming the Enlightened Empire of Uzbekistan and Solomon. Most of the indigenous population of Solomon died out, but a new, powerful nation was formed.
After Unification
For many years after unification, The Enlightened Empire of Uzbekistan and Solomon was a sleepy nation. In 1847, the Solomon Islands revolted, but were quickly supressed by the superior Uzbekistan army. Things returned to normal until the invention of the automobile, when Uzbekistan and Solomon became a leader in production and design. Today, it is a powerful, influential nation that still holds its traditional values dear.
Government
The democratic government has its seat in Tashmara. This is also the seat of government for The Melanesian Islands. The leader has the title of "emperor", but this is merely for cosmetic purposes, as his role is closer to that of president.

Uzbekistan and Solomon is the sub-regional delegate of Southern Carteria, and several representatives are always in Mount Carter, helping the region of Carteria run smoothly.
Economy
The recent surge in commerce and industry in Uzbekistan and Solomon has caused it to emerge as an economic leader in Southern Carteria, and coupled with its satellite, The Melanesian Islands, it forms a formidable economic bloc. Uzbekistan and Solomon's powerhouse economy is based on automobile manufacture, with UzbekSol Motors, the finest manufacturers of luxury cars located in Tashmara. Also important are uranium mining, which is abundant in the nations many mountains, and cheese exports, as the great ports of Tashmara see most of Southern Carteria's delicious cheeses pass by on their way to the rest of the world.

Geography
Uzbekistan and Solomon's spine are the Carterian Mountains, which begin in the Solomon Penninsula, and continue far into the continent. The Solomon Islands extend from the Solomon Penninsula for some 400km. At its northern borders lie the great nations of Hammer2026(currently at civil war), Sapphire Coast, and a small mountainous border is shared with Elphabaleah as well.
