The Velnar Mountains are one of the four chains of mountains that surround the nation of Snefaldia, being the western peaks that border the hot region of Allasha.

Village of Ektag, western Allasha. Velnar mountains in background.

The Velnars shield Allasha from the nourishing rains, contributing to the dry, arid climate in the region. The Pardaki Gorge in the central-northern range is the only indication of the ancient river that once ran through Allasha, although this gorge terminates abruptly, probably due to a massive archaic earthquake.

The highest peak in the Velnars is Kehr-Bushar at 14,505 feet. Pictured is the village of Ektag, which sits at an elevation of 6,225 feet.
