The Democratic Republic of Very small island was a small, economically powerful nation, known for it's very low income taxes and political decisions.Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 7 million had some civil rights, but not too many, enjoed the freedom to spend their money however they liked, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.
Since then, Willink and Spizania administer the entire northern section of the country. It's current population is only estimated at 5 million, as nearly 2 million civilians have died as result of the constant period of war. It was once estimated at the peak in fighting that over 4,000 civilians were being killed a day. Today most Civilians in the north enjoy the same rights as the peoples of it's administrative nations.
Parthia rules the southrn half with an iron fist, with the entire population of native Islanders considered slaves of the Shah, and the only rights granted are those to Parthian settlers, who are encouraged to utilize the Islander Slaves for economic gain.

History
Since Very Small Island was founded it has been involved in a few international incidents. Firstly a VSI backed terror group launched attacks against Hataria which resulted in VSI being invaded by a Hatarian led coalition. The country was then taken over be these countries for a short time before it was feed by another groups of nations. Today it no longer exists, and is territory of the nations of Willink, Spizania, and Parthia
Geography
Very Small Island Is, as the name implies, an island with a total area of roughly 4,000 square miles but in the south levy’s have been used to reclaim around 10-15 miles.
The south consists mainly of grasslands and small forests. 70% of the Land in the South is used for farming, with only 10% consisting of Urban areas. This area was devastated by Parthian bombing when the Parthians attempted to starve the people of Very Small Island. The Castle City is located here.
The east is a very mountainous region where the countries mining industry is based. There are deposits of Gold, Tin, Iron, Diamonds, palladium and copper. The major city in the east is Arrana which contains the largest port in Very Small Island. This has been the center for the fishing industry and the merchant fleet since Row was lost to Aust. Many small towns have sprung up in the foot hills of the Easter mountain range and these people now provide the work force for the mines.
The north is a highly urbanized area containing The cities Island City and the major ports as well as dozens of smaller towns. The river castle runs from the north coast to the city of Castle , The river contains the largest Dam in the country witch provides much of the power to castle. Outside the cities the road and rail networks have been rebuilt since the war. A Parthian military base is also located on the north coast, but was destroyed during the second battle for VSI, and is now deep within SW territory.
The west is full of small forests and small hills as well and over 150 wind farms and wave based power stations. Nove City is located on the north West Coast and full of immigrants from all over the world. These people provide a cheap source of labor for the multi nation companies in the country. Nove City turns out cheap goods witch are exported all over the world. The city Row in the South is under the control of Aust. Austarians are thought of as brutal people throughout very Small Island and few Islanders venture into this area.
Politics
VSI is no longer a nation. Parthia rules the south, and Willink and Spizania adminster the entire northern region. Local politcs vary by City.
Security
The large well funded state police and Regional security forces as old have since collapsed.
A shadowy organization called Group 9 protected VSI interests abroad as well as some crimes and terrorist groups, there methods however are unorthodox. They are thought to have killed 300 civilians in the north east when attempting to destroy a terrorist cell. The government denied the existence of this group until after the collapse, when it was finally made public. The orginzation, losing it's support, has since collapsed.
Economy
Very Small Island made a tremendous, yet lackluster economic recovery. Natural gas had been found off the south coast, but the floating plants used to extract the gas were destroyed by SW air raids.A large amount of precious metals were being found in the east(These are still used to supply materials to both sides.)Exports from the country are nearly non-existant, outside from local exports from SW territory, Parthia absorbs all exports made by the south.
Military
The Very Small Island military has also been reformed since the wars. The military is based on mobility.
Army
The army consisted of 5,000 full time soldiers and 12,000 territorial army soldiers. The army consisted of 3 Departments. One was the Home Guard which defended the Country at all times, 2,000 of the territorial army were also part of the home guard and 10,000 were in service at all times. Since the occupation of VSI, the army has been disolved. Currently an active force led by Willinkian and Spizani officers consists of around 2000 men, mostly tasked with second line duties in the major cities.
The third corps provided support for the other two groups as well as providing humanitarian aid. (This role has been taken over by SW)
Equipment is limited for the small military; it operates several SAM systems handed over by Willink, several transport helicopters, and an artillery battery.
Air Force
The Airforce consisted of the Air Defense regiment and the Air corp. The Defense regiment contained 3000 men and defends the air at home. The airforce had 20 dragonfly fighters(MiG-29 built locally) ,5 Goliath bombers and 7 Juggernaut bombers, 10 Navy Harriers and 10 C-5 transports. These aircraft are spread throughout the country. This has also since been dissolved. 6 Dragonfly fighters are currently in storage at the Mcormick AFB, and All of the bombers were lost to enemy action. The transport planes are still used in a secondary role by air arm to transport military equipment between bases and cities.
The Navy was mostly based at Nove city in the north but some ships are stationed in other areas.
The navy consisted of the following:
4 Swift class destroyers(3 Sunk as blockships by Skycapt forces, 1 lost in storm) 50 firefly class gunboats(Since scrapped, some still used for harbor defense by Provencial government.) 1 supernova class heavy battleships (Sunk by Parthian naval forces) 2 Freedom class cruisers (Sunk in Naval action with Hataria.) 2 Admiral Class Light Carriers (1 Sunk by Parthian action, 1 beached and never recovered.) 20 Grant class troop transports (Used by Willinkian forces on amphibious assault on Castle, abandoned on beach and most likely broken apart.) 20 missile boats (9 Destroyed, remaining Scrapped) 11 supply ships (7 sunk by enemy action, 3 sold to private companies, 1 remains un-used in Spizani hands.) 9 oil tankers (All destroyed, 4 due to enemy action, 3 as blockships by Skycapt, and 2 used as naval targets)
VSI no longer has a navy.
