Vickery is the provincial capital and second-largest city of Conroy. With a city population of 5.7 million (2007 est.), it is the hub of Kelssek's fifth-largest metropolitan area, which had 13,247,388 inhabitants as of the 2004 census. It is located in the central part of the province on the Suter river.

Vickery is a cultural, government and educational centre. It plays host to a year round slate of world-class festivals, and the historical success of its sports teams have led to it being given the moniker "City of Champions". While the provincial government remains a major employer, in recent years Vickery has grown as a destination for ecotourism, conventions, and the communications and natural resources industries, with agriculture, uranium and oil being the three largest primary industries in the city.

Media

Vickery's main daily newspaper is the Vickery Globe, which is also circulated province-wide. It is also the headquarters of the Western Cable communications company, which is a major telecommunications, cable television, and Internet service provider.

Education and culture

Vickery is home to the University of Conroy at Vickery (UCV), one of Kelssek's most well-reputed universities. The Churchill area is a famous arts and culture district, where you can find the Strathmore Theatre, the Citadel Music Centre, the Northlands Jubilee Auditorium, and the Art Gallery of Conroy.

Transportation

Public transportation is governed by the Vickery Transportation System (VTS), which operates an extensive system of subways, buses and commuter rail. Vickery's main airport is Billy Bishop International, which is a hub for Kelssek Pacific Airlines. Inter-city rail services provided by Kelssek National Rail and Via Kelssek depart and arrive from the Grand Station.
