Stellar Division

First Half Report

The season opened with an exciting match between Yeaddin Owls and Turoki Isle at the Lirai Asku Castle in Yeaddin. The match was a swapping affair, that the owls led 2-1 at half time. Manolis Ipoua equalized for Turoki Isle, but Lai Ncube looked to give the homeside all three points in the 87th minute with a brilliant free kick. The referee gave 4 minutes of stoppage time however, and it was Bedistan's Alejandro Vantrease who got his head on the ball with the last touch of the game to steal a share of the points. The Owls had a packed schedule to start the season, and in week two met up with Marine Coast United in another major derby. Marine Coast looked to have the match sealed up at home, but this time it was the Owls who came back at the end with Emarka Laniora netting just minutes from full time. In what could be considered the toughest opening 3 matches in Stellar Division history, Yeaddin Owls came out unbeaten after Malaino Mumamba netted twice against Strike FC to give the Owls their first win of the season. Strike FC quickly rebounded from their defeat at Yeaddin with wins over Tivali City, Arcticala Inlet and Kionao Locals. The Owls kept pace however, one point beyond in the table after an impressive 3-0 win over Eastal Lunar.

Strike continued their winning ways with a 4-1 win over Makosile United, but Yeaddin Owls supporters started to get unsettled after seeing the Owls fall to another 90th minute goal, Arcticala Inlet taking the points in Yeaddin. In a welcome turn of events, Giant Zucchini's Shelton was winning accolaides for his improved performance at Tivali City, conceding just 5 times in the opening 8 games of the season, 3 of which came in the one loss to Strike FC. In the Declasse division, Antonis Siazzu and Inaki Soler were running over the competition offensively, however rookie goalkeeper Ebbow Dakin regularly conceded weak goals that Alikki-Corra top both the Goals For and Goals Against categories.

Gbenga Ogunniya netted in the 90th minute to seal a comprehensive 3-0 victory for Marine Coast United, becoming the first foreigner to score for the historical Vilitan club. The win gave Turoki Isle their first defeat of the season, as the last team in the league to get their first loss of the season. Strike FC continued their complete obliteration of the Stellar Division, looking clear favorites to defend their championship after their 7th consecutive victory put them 6 points clear of Marine Coast and Turoki Isle atop the table.

Strike met up with their closest competitors, Turoki Isle and Marine Coast United in succession, and looked to be unbeatable, out shooting Marine Coast 14-1, and only conceding on a free kick from Manolis Ipoua of Turoki Isle. The league leaders looked off their game, however, losing for just the second time to a Mauro Baraza goal againt Eastal Lunar to wrap up the first half of the season. Strike finished with 31 goals and 33 points, 5 points clear of now-second placed Yeaddin Owls AFC who rode a five game unbeaten streak. Tivali City rode their defenseive record to 4th in the table, level with Turoki Isle and Marine Coast but superior on goal differential. Makosile found themselves at the foot of the table 4 points adrift of 12th place Colonial Sile.

Mid-Season Transfers

Former Vilitan international Lorenzo Mumamba abrubtly retired after failing to perform for Tivali City, and is believed to be looking to take up a managerial position. Experienced midfielder Marasent Sioane left Marine Coast United to try and save Makosile's Stellar Division Status, while Marine Coast wasted no time in replacing Sioane, spending largely to attract highly rated 23 year old free kick specialist Maurizio Sala to Marine Coast.

Second Half Report

Strike FC looked to continue where the left off by opening the second half of the season by putting four goals each past Colonial Sile and Kiiarana, with Serge DuPont particularly impresive netting five of those goals. The streak looked to continue as DuPont netted against the Yeaddin Owls at The Shultis, but Yeaddin had other ideas. The second Inaki Soler era at Yeaddin quickly proved fruitful as Soler netted twice as the Owls stole the show with a 5-1 thrashing of the league leaders. just 5 points back, the Owls looked to be the Yeaddin of old and set to regain their title as Stellar Division champions. A string of defeats and a dry spell for Player-Manager Simeone Di Bradini saw Kiiarana drop into the relegation zone after their 10th defeat in 16 matches.

Inaki Soler netted for the 5th consecutive game as Yeaddin romped to another decisive 5-1 victory, this time over relegation threatened Kiiarana City. Soler's prolific record was making headlines, and took the Owls to within 3 points of league leading Strike FC. Kiiarana were not so unlucky, however, picking up very impressive victories over Eastal Lunar and Tivali City to lift themselves out of the relegation zone. The defeat to Kiiarana dropped Tivali City out of the race for the title, sitting 6 points adrift of the top 5.

The Owls extended their winning streak to 9 games and caught league leaders Strike FC after the Lonngeylin club suffered their first ever loss to cross town Lonngeylin City. The race for the title had fallen down to those two teams, with Arcticala Inlet, Turoki Isle and Marine Coast left to battle it out for 3rd, 10 points adrift with 5 games to play. Kiiarana dropped back into the relegation zone, despite having an identical record an goal differential to Colonial Sile, with the colonials trying to avoid a double-Sile-Relegation by having superior Goals-Scored han Kiiarana. 10 points from safety, it appeared Makosile were set for a return to the declasse, despite rumors that long-time Makosile supporter Bryan 'Pop' Duiker would be returning to the club at the end of his contract with Strike FC.

Lonngeylin City made their presence in the Stellar Division very clear by upsetting the Yeaddin Owls. Unfortunately for Strike FC, they too suffered defeat, an entertaining 4-3 defeat to Cednia Beach AFC which saw Starblaydia's Stelios Doukas net in stoppage time to keep Yeaddin atop the table on goal differential. A pair of goals from Stellar Division top goalscorer Syku Lyku-Agbayani kept Arcticala Inlet mathematically in the hunt for the title, 9 points back with 3 games to play, although their goal differential was far worse than the teams they were chasing. Makosile earned a draw with Colonial Sile and a win over Kiiarana was not enough to save Makosile's stellar division status, as they were the first team confirmed to be relegated despite the addition of Marasent Sioane.

Strike FC looked to have lost the Stellar Division title after Manolis Ipoua and a rather unimpressive Henrik Bastale scored for Turoki Isle in Lonngeylin to set Strike to a very untimely home defeat. The Owls made easy work of Makosile, confirming the Sile clubs position at the foot of the table and taking a 3 point lead into the final two matches of the season. Defensive stalwards Tivali City set their sites on Marine Coast United's 5th place standing with a win over Lonngeylin City, with yet another unimpressive league season on the apparent for Marine Coast.

Serge DuPont's goal at the stroke of half time gave Strike FC an important win over Marine Coast United, but Cednia Beach did them no favors losing 2-0 to Yeaddin Owls. With just one game left in the season, Strike would have to hope that relegation threatened Inland Peaks FC would record a win over the Owls to give them any chance at defending their title. Inland Peaks draw with Kiiarana left three teams on 24 points, with one staring relegation in the face and all with tough opposition on the final matchday.

The Owls clinched their 10th Stellar Division title with a 1-1 draw with Inland Peaks, that was enough to see the Peaks avoid relegation. Strike FC fell to another disspointing defeat to Eastal Lunar, but held on to second in the table. Kiiarana City was unable to topple Turoki Isle, sending them back to the Declasse first time. Arcticala Inlet finished 3 points behind Strike FC in 3rd, while Turoki Isle proved that their Season 12 positioning was no fluke, 10 points clear of Marine Coast United in 4th place.

Post-Season Transfers

The rumors were true, and despite Makosile's relegation to the Declasse Division, Strike FC's Bryan 'Pop' Duiker returned to his home club to finish out his career. It looked apparent that there wasmore to the move than just that, however, when Strike shocked all of Vilita by announcing they had re-acquired National Team goalkeeper Jimmy Kater from Vilitan Cup champion Arcticala Inlet for a significant fee. The whirlwind of goalkeepers kept on moving as Arcticala quickly swooped to replace Kater with Tivali City's ambitious Giant Zucchini goalkeeper Shelton, who boasted one of the best records in Season 13.

The Tradition of homegrown talent had already been broken by Marine Coast United, so they had no trouble signing Sarzonia's Henrik Bastale from Turoki Isle, but the surprise came when the Yeaddin Owls signed their first foreigner, Bedistan's Alejandro Vantrease, leaving Turoki Isle fans wondering what was happening to their team.

However, It soon became clear that Arcticala Inlet were after more than just the Vilitan Cup next season as they laid out the cash, almost double the all time record transfer fee, to acquire Antonis Siazzu from Alikki-Corra. The Inley then replaced retired Turorian Yabaiy Tbaiao by signing young Crystilakere prospect Alpha Siboldi from Inland Peaks and Vilitan defender Kagiso Alfieri from Makosile.

Lai Otieno's long career at non-league Corra Rangers ended after his transfer to Declasse side Jlinal Wanderers, while Ebbow Dakin returned to Yeaddin Owls after completing his loan to Alikki-Corra.

There was no surprise when defender Jaloey Afrikka returned to his home in Jlinal Cove to join the Declasse Runners-Up for the Fourth Seperate time in his career.

Individual Awards

Arcticala Inlet's Syku-Lyku-Agbayani picked up a host of awards at seasons end, including Stellar Division Player of the Year, Foregin Player of the Year, Top Goalscorer, with 19 goals, Forward of the Year and Foreign Forward of the Year. Agbayani's teammate Jacques Vintila barely edged out Inaki Soler for midfielder of the year, while the Foreign Midfielder of the year went to Lethislavania's Vorrece Peltier. Strike FC's Kadu Hsen picked up both the Defender of the year award and the Foreign defender of the year award, producing one of his best seasons in Vilita. 45 year old Rory Issah proved he still had what it took, winning Goalkeeper of the year awards, while Giant Zucchini's Shelton picked up the Foreign award.

Foreigner Report

Bedistan - A massively improved Alejandro Vantrease Quintupled his goalscoring output and rewrote the goalscoring records at Turoki Isle with his 15 goal performance. Vantrease's seasonal turnaround has seen supporters that last year wanted him gone from the club, now comparing him amongst the best to ever put on an Islanders kit.

Cockbill Street - Rhianna Peters scored a career high 8 goals for Cednia Beach. Jonathan Havell, still between the sticks for Colonial Sile, scaved off relegation with 40 goals conceded in 26 matches.

Giant Zucchini - Shelton seems to have settled in at Tivali City, conceding just 24 in 28 matches to give Tivali City the best defensive record in the Stellar Divivion.

Lethislavania - Vorrece Peltier was a much improved midfielder for the occasional giant-killers Lonngeylin City. his 7 goals helped propel him to Foreign Midfielder of the Year status.

Melmond - Loala Saenu had a decent season with the 3rd Vilitan club in 3 seasons, Turoki Isle. saenu was nothing spectacular, but seemed to be reliable and worthy of the role.

Oaker - Arthin Oaker improved slightly from his abysmal perfomance in Season 12. Only because he only sucked in 27 games, instead of sucking for 31.

Rejistania - A rejuvinated Kadu Hsen had one of their best seasons in the Stellar Division, anchoring the back for Strike FC and earning Foreign Defender of the Year.

Sarzonia - A lack of International play seems to have affected Henrik Bastale emotionally, and his heart was not in the same place it was last season. Scoring just 3 times, Henrik was no more than average for Turoki Isle. However, he has been given a chance to prove himself in the Jurassic Invitational, and is tipped to shine with his new club, Marine Coast United, next season.

Starblaydia - Syku Lyku-Agbayani scored 21 goals in 27 League nd Cup matches for Arcticala Inlet, becoming the first foreign player to ever win top goalscorer and player of the year awards in the Stellar Division, as well as leading his team to the Vilitan Cup title. Stelios Doukas was plagued by injuries and only made 22 appearances for Cednia Beach AFC, but was able to put in one of his most productive seasons when he was playing. Rene Griffiths had one of the worst Goalkeeping records, conceding 46 times for Eastal Lunar. Martin Watt, on the other hand, had a personal best 7 goals from the back of the Inland Peaks lineup, just avoiding relegation at the expense of Simeone Di Bradini's Kiiarana City. Di Bradini himself scored an impressive 9 times for the club while performing managerial tasks as well, but will do so from the Declasse next season. Giannis Berisha only saw the field 9 times for Kionao Local, finding himself injured for 7 out of the 8 months of competition. Gbenga OGunniya's first season with Marine Coast was not as productive as he would have liked. Ogunniya was impressive in the cup against weaker opposition, but seemed to struggle against some of the better Stellar Division clubs, ending with a below par season, despite netting 4 times.

The Eagles Nest - Aman Dedur was no more than average for new club, Inland Peaks FC.

Declasse Division

vdw.gif

Alikki-Corra FC finally climbed into the promotion zone, 2nd in the table behind Rammsissil. Inaki Soler and Antonis Siazzu were very impressive for Alikki-Corra, however, not impressive enough for Soler who decided to terminate his contract with the Declasse division side and return to his former club, the Yeaddin Owls. Mavaloiao FC, on the other hand, announced their ambitions to return to the Stellar Division by signing Vilitan Under-21 midfielder Thierry Columbo from Lonngeylin City, and Under-21 goalkeeper Manolis Masi from Yeaddin Owls AFC.

Antonis Siazzu's Player of the Year award was not enough to give Alikki-Corra a dramatic return to the Stellar Division, adding to the rumors that Siazzu would be leaving the club during the offseason. Mavaloiao FC, however, would be making their return, denying Jlinal Cove their 4th Declasse division title, although Jlinal Cove would be joining Mavaloiao in the Stellar Division once again. It will be Jlinal Coves 5th attempt to stay up in the Stellar Division, but odds are not looking good for them at this time. Mavaloiao will be making their first return to the Stellar Division since finishing bottom of the table in the inagural Stellar Division season.

Group Stage

In Group 1, Strike FC eaily ran over the competition, with convincing wins over Jaguar Moreda and Kikania Toau before a final win over Nusira Lionta sealed their place in the second round. Nusira Lionta scraped through on goal differential over non league Kikania Toau. Serge DuPont was the star of the round, netting 5 times and having an average rating of 9/10 over the 3 match group stage. In Group 2, Marine Coast easily advanced, despite a scare from Declasse newcomers Lonngeylin United in a 1-1 draw. Group 3 saw Alikki Rovers upset the league teams to top the group after wins over Turoki United and Kionao Locals. The Stellar Division Locals crashed out as recent relegatees Irougil advanced behind Alikki. Group 4 saw another upset, as Stellar Divisions Eastal Lunar were dumped out without a single point in the cup Declasse division side Akisa Surta finished level on points with non-leaguers Kimoara Lika and Corra Rangers, with Corra being left out on goal differential. In Group 5, Season 12 Cup heros Mavaloiao City stepped towards another cup run with an incredible 4-0 over Jonathan Havell and the Stellar Divisions Colonial Sile. Liguon Valley, recently relegated from the Declasse, will join City in the next round. In Group 6, Inaki Soler-less Alikki-Corra were dissapointing, Although Antonis Siazzu netted for the declasse side. Cednia Beach topped the group and will be joined by Yutzie Sorma in round two. In Group 7, Cittea Locals rode the wave of three 1-0 victories to take the non-league team to the second round for the first time, along with Stellar Division side Makosile. In Group 8, Jurgen Ramzi's Jlinal Cove FC lost out to winless Laiotia Locals as Arcticala Inlet easily progressed. In Group 9 Simeone Di Bradini netted for Kiiarana to continue the misery for Yeaddin Owls, who were knocked out at the group stage for the first time in history. German Salomon was unable to lead Stellar Division newcomers Lonngeylin City out of Group 10, As declasse's Wunokalsa Waridi and Stellar Division Turoki Isle moved on. In Group 11, Tivali City and Inland Peaks finished level in a controversional scenario that saw Inland Peaks advance undeservedly to the second round.

Second Round

A Record number of Non-League teams advanced to the third round of the Cup, with a pair of declasse division sides losing out on penalty kicks. Laiotia Locals knocked out Yutzie Sorma and Liguon Valley knocked out Akisa Surta. Tivali United advanced over Morata Valley to complete the 7 non-league teams in the third round.

Third Round

Tuorki Isle needed an 87th minute equalizer to take Non-League Liguon Valley to extra time, finally advancing 4-2 at the conclusion of the extra period. Alikki-Rovers were even closer, taking Arcticala Inlet to a penalty shootout, but Vilitan National keeper Jimmy Kater saved every Alikki Rovers penalty shot to send Arcticala Inlet to the quarter finals. Tivali United were the only non-league team to cause an upset, advancing at the expense of Turori's Cednia Beach AFC, while Kimoara Lika and Laiotia Locals both advanced over fellow Non-League oppositions, putting 3 non-league sides in the Quarter Finals.

Quarter Finals

Arcticala Inlet and Strike FC endd the non-league dreams of Laiotia Locals and Kimoara Lika, although Strike had to rely on the Away Goals rule to get there. Tivali United, however, were not so unlucky, impressively defeating Turoki Isle in both legs of the Quarter Final to advance to their first ever Semi Final, and giving the people of Tivali something to cheer about. Tivali will be drawn against Marine Coast United, who advanced at the expense of Wunokalsa Waridi.

Semi Final

Ippolit Adjei's stoppage time goal gave Arcticala Inlet a 4-3 aggregate victory over Strike FC, giving them the chance to defender their Vilitan Cup. The Inlet would be joined in the final by Marine Coast United, who ended the dream of non-league Tivali United with a 3-2 aggregate win.

Final

Ippolit Adjei did it again for Arcticala Inlet, scoring in the final minute of the game to bring the Vilitan Cup back to Arcticala Inlet in front of a packed Tivali Ring Stadium in Alikki-Corra. Maurizio Sala had given Marine Coast United the lead with one of his textbook free kicks, but it was Arcticala Inlet who were singing their cheers at the end of the day. Arcticala Inlet 2-1 Marine Coast United
