The Socialist Dictatorship of Vladmiristak is a massive nation to the North West of the United Free Republics. Vladmiristak is the largest nation in the United Free Republics. Ruled by the Grand Overlord - Dr. Maximillian Xavier Arkady Ivanov Vlad - The Socialist Dictatorship of Vladmiristak is an all pervasive, unforgiving and economically powerful nation. Its only land borders are to the South West - to the largely unpopulated desert wastes of Former Autumno, and to the South East - to the former Republic of Rental Save.

Vladmiristak itself is an increasingly barren country - ravaged by desertification and government policies practically ignoring the enviroment. It's national animal - the Vladmiristaki Dodo is all but extinct - only surviving in captivity now. Vladmiristak however, sits on one of the largest oil reserves in the United Free Republics and the largest Uranium Oxide reserves which are indiscriminately exploited by the Publicly owned mining company - Kourox Mining Enterprises (KME) - for lucrative profit which contribute greatly to the country's unstereotypical burgeoning economy.

Vladmiristak and it's society is increasingly wary of foreign nationals and this is reflected in its starkly nationalist population.

The population of Vladmiristak could be described as entering the 4th stage of development - it's population is beginning to mature and it's astronomical birth rate has decreased over the years to a much more sustainable figure. Deaths have continued to decrease rapidly since the 1850's thanks to the advent of better healthcare, improved working conditions and since 1918, the implementation of the country's first social security system.

In recent years due to strained relations with other nations in the region, Vladmiristak's ethnic makeup has become almost negligible. With nearly 98% of the population being of Vladmiristaki origin, the remaining ethnic groups are marginalised, except for the very rich.

Religion in Vladmiristak was made illegal by Dr. Vlad when he came to power in April 2003. Religion to him, conflicted with the way a country should be run as it was an "irrational psychological disorder that weakened those who believed" in what he saw as a "non-existant deity". He believed that religion was "little more than organised Schizophrenia" and he saw it as a threat to Vladmiristak. Now regulated by the Vladmiristaki Department for Regulation and Internal Affairs (VDRIA), Religion only exists unofficially in an underground society which the Government relentlessly targets. It is estimated that ~0.4% of the population actively participates in such underground religious groups. Most of the population however have been forced to disband their beliefs in fear of the consequences - including imprisonment and mind conditioning.

Vladmiristak's Capital City - Vladigrad City on the East Coast of Vladmiristak is a sprawling megalopolis that includes the centre of the Vladmiristaki Government. It also is the home to Dr. Vlad himself in the gigantic hillside fortress - Vladigrad Palace.

The government comprises of 4 tiers.

Firstly, with Dr. Vlad heading the entire government. He is in supreme control of the country.

Secondly, there is the Executive Cabinet, who comprise of the chairpeople from the 12 government departments which are:

This tier is chaired by Dr. Vlad.

The third tier of Government is the submanagement of the various aforementioned departments.

Finally, the fourth tier is the Regional Governorship of Vladmiristak. There are 8 Governed regions - 6 for the Largest Cities and the Governorship of Szevereniz Island and the Vladmiristaki Controlled Arbad Islands. These governors run the country at local level, are responsible for executing the demands of the Executive Cabinet and report directly to Dr. Vlad.

The Right to Vote is for anyone aged 18 years and above regardless of sex. However, the populace have no control over the leader of the country. They merely have a say in the effectiveness of the Government and on any Referenda that the Government see fit to put forth to the populace.

Opposition political parties were forbidden by law in 1964. As were political pressure groups. The ruling Vladmiristaki Socialist Revolutionary Party amended the constitution to ensure their political safety. They have a 100% monopoly on the rule of the country.

Vladmiristak's economy is described by the UN as "Frightening". Led by the Uranium Mining and Oil Exploration and refining industry, Vladmiristak has an unusually high GDP for a Communist nation. Its economy is booming and has been on a rapid increase for over 40 years - though the government does artificially manage the internal economy and imposes trade sanctions on many neighbouring countries with competing markets; protecting it's own economy. Vladmiristak is a large importer with a trade deficit of US$937Billion, it is a massive global player in the regional economy. Vladmiristak's other significant industries are Gambling, High Tech Agriculture, Arms Manufacturing and Automobile Manufacturing.

The government however is incredibly corrupt. 10% of the money the government has to spend goes towards extravagancies such as palaces, luxury yachts and private jets. However a sizeable amount of this corruption disappears and is thought to go into offshore bank accounts.

The tax rate in Vladmiristak is artificially high. A 100% tax rate is a simple way of resolving the communist ethic of "Equal share for all". The government collects people's income and then immediately takes a slice for Public Spending (Around 60%) and the rest is shared between the populace.

The Vladmiristaki military operates on a professional, full time basis and also on a part time reservist basis also. At the age of 16, Vladmiristaki citizens may enlist in the professonal military. However, those who wish to persue other career paths must complete 1 year of national service between their 16th birthday and the day before their 26th birthday unless they have grounds for exemption - medical conditions etc. This is accompanied by 1 week of refresher training per year until their 46th birthday. These reservists are not called upon, unless absolutely necessary. This training however ensures that there is an overwhelming base of existing defence in Vladmiristak, even if the conventional military is overseas.

Co-ordinated by military officers, in the event of an attack on Vladmiristak, these reservists organise into a militia who's instructions are to defend their land and their homes at all costs. The idea being that these militia bear arms against any invading force and slow them down, allowing the Government to respond by having time to redeploy Professional Military personnel.

The military is not discriminatory of gender. Women may fight alongside men - though fitness requirements must be met.

Red Star is the codename for Vladmiristak's Nuclear capacity. Controlled from the secret command bunker in the Vladdines Mountain Range at VAFCC, Red Star is capable of launching approximately 2000 nuclear armed ICBMs with little more than a minute's notice. Complimenting Red Star is the highly controversial Petrevya network of satellites which utilise the latest in Ion Particle beam technology to destroy incoming threats well before they can cause any damage to Vladmiristak. This project has cost in excess of US$50 Trillion however in a number of altercations in the region, it has shown its worth repeatedly.

In addition to the Red Star nuclear capability, Vladmiristak sits on a stockpile of nuclear arms, rumoured to be in excess of 50,000 with an equivalent yield of approximately 1000 Gigatons.
