The Weegie Premiership is the top division in the Weegie league system. It replaced the old Weegie Premier Division in the 2000/2001 season, in a shake-up of the Weegie league system which expanded the top division from ten teams to sixteen, expanded the first and second divisions from ten teams to fourteen and added a new division at the bottom of ten teams.
