The Revolutionary Republic Of Wheelchairman
The Capitol is Wheelchairaccessible, although each region has historically it's own capitol, the regions were divided by geographical obstacles, rivers, mountains, forests etc. The regional capitols are Petenorth, Stalysliem, Emilaarestrup, and Georgbrandes. (the regions bore the same name as the regional capitol). The size, well let's say it's about the size of modern Vietnam. It does have coastal access, no major bodies of water but a large river and it's smaller ones are present.
Culture
We're of multi-ethnic nation, due to the inter-breeding of several tribes early on in our history, and the language we speak is Edithpiafian. However there are several dialects of the language due to being for a very long time, a very decentralized nation with little contact across from itself. Climate should be warm, definitely warm-temporate would be nice. (hey, I'm an Oregon boy, if there was plenty of rain it'd be perfect.)
Culturally we have a very long and complicated tradition in story telling, in which one sitting generally lasts 3 days and is accompanied in traditional dancing and lots of traditional drinking. Music is therefore well developed as well and all of this has left marks on the modern film and publishing industries as well.
History
Historically, we were a religious patriarch for thousands of years, think of it as middle eastern imperial style. Until Celdonian occupiers that we named grammairec'estputainers (The Soul Traders) until they came and occupied and colonized our country. While beforehand we had been a rather open minded and religiously unoppressive state. The occupation by another nationality has skewed the race relations in our country and it's not uncommon for general feelings of anger to be felt towards Celdonia are still expressed. Celdonian is actually one of the most offensive insults in our language.
During the occupation by Celdonia that was the first time true infrastructure was created in our country. And unified our country for the first time, since then we have been working on establishing a common language to understand each other, however attempts have been made to establish language divided regions. During the occupation there were several attempts of revolution and freedom but most of these failed, there was a long lived terrorist group known as the WRA (Wheelchairmanian Republican Army) but their tactic was personal terrorism which we all know will never lead to liberation.
The Communist Party had been steadily growing since the Celdonians brought true industrialisation to Wheelchairman. Factories sprung up for us to do their labor. And with that translations of Capital, The Manifesto of the Communist Party, Quotations From Chairman Mao, What Is To Be Done by V.I. Lenin and Imperialism as Capitalism's Final Stage were all very thoroughly read. Unionisation while illegal, was happening for several years. Worker's songs started leaking into our culture, and songs like Ichbinnichtbösse (Proletarian Whiskey in the Jar) and Detvarnogetrøv (Fairytale of Wheelchairaccessible) became quite popular. Strikes became more and more common throughing the economy of Celdonia into disarray. While the crisis of capital was setting in, Celdonia tried a fascist like puppet dictatorship with the former Ruling Family knowns as the Hans but this was declared by the Communist Party as a sham power and a general strike was declared while Workers, Peasants and Soldiers Councils were formed. (WPSCs also referred to in daily speech as Wapasacs.) A common revolutionary slogan was 'All power to the Wapasacs!'
After the revolution the government was organised into a Dictatorship of the Proletariat under the collective leadership of the party. The Theory of Collective Leadership denies the Leninist Vanguard Party idea as the beginnings of creating a Bureaucratic Class Dictatorship and allows open membership to all Proletarians, Peasants and soldiers, and all policies go up for direct voting, and any policy can be put forward by any member.) The Chairman of the voting sessions, and the theoretical mastermind of the revolution and the theory of Collective Leadership, Wheelchairman, died a few years after the revolution. The Party now rules in his absence.
