The White Legion has not committed any attacks ever since the restoration of the Grand Duchy, yet it never officially disbanded

The White Legion was a terrorist organisation that wrecked havoc throughout Tarasovka during the so called Federal Era of the nation's history. Profiting from an atmosphere of confusion and disarray that followed the Plague, the White Legion unleased a wave of organised and systematic attacks first against the slavic communities that were not of Orthodox faith, and later on passed to Taraskath and Elvish communities. In the year 1147 After Strife, the White Legion began an organised uprising, which cost their lives to hundreds of thousands of people in the Vigvar Attacks alone, as well as to Admiral Konstantin Puchinov, one of the three members of the Ruling Council.

The extent of the violence, however, sparked a negative reaction from the traditional support base of the White Legion and forced the organisation into a unilateral cease fire. This was the beginning of a long period of calm, interrupted by minor incidents. With the restoration of the Grand Duchy and the passing of the Federal Constitution of the Grand Duchy of Tarasovka, the White Legion froze its activities and turned to politics. The National Patriotic Christian Alliance, a political party that controls many seats in the Grand Ducal Duma and Senate, is rumoured to be the political wing of the White Legion, even if any such ties are vehemently denied by the leadership of the NPCA.

Overview

Regalia

  • Flag: Horizontal 1:2 ratio. Symmetrical black cross, top left and bottom right in gold, top right and bottom left in argent. Top left quarter comprises the Coat of Arms, the top right comprises the words "Faith, Fatherland, Duty". In the bottom part the words "White Legion".
  • Coat of Arms: In gold shield a black double-headed eagle under three crowns. On chest of the eagle azure shield with a gules Russian Orthodox cross.

Date of Creation

Unknown ; presumed to be existent a number of decades in secret. The banner, coat of arms and the very name of the organization indicate a deep attachment to the Russian Empire. As such, the flag and the coat of arms of the organisation are inspired by the ones of the Empire and the name indicates the belonging to the monarchist (white) side, as opposed to the communist (red) side (clear reference to the Russian Civil War of 1918-1922 Standard Calendar). It is thus possible that the organization, in any of its forms (possibility of evolution from a harmless popular rally to an aggressive military formation) existed either since 1918-1922 Standard Calendar, either before, either was created much later, inspired by the aforementioned events.

Ethnic Composition

The organisation mostly consists of ethnic Russians, as well as a number of Slavic mixes featuring Russian blood. The Organization benefits from an extensive support from the Russian ethnicity (approximately 66% of the Taraskovyan population). The law enforcement agencies also received information that the Slavic communities that profess the Roman Catholic faith are collaborating with the White Legion, especially those adhering to the Byzantine Rite.

Social Composition

The core of the organisation consists of Grand Russian nationalists, be they ethnic Russians or members of other Slavic communities. The military of the Organization is believed to consist of both former and active servicemen of the Taraskovyan National Defence Forces as well as of the various Grand Ducal security organisations.

Goals and Ideology

Primary ideology is a radicalized version of the Grand Russian nationalism and its various derivatives, coupled with a strong Taraskovyan Orthodox sentiment. It is believed that the White Legion first existed as an underground party for moderate Russian nationalists. It is unknown why did it adopt a more radical point view, but as of now, the White Legion features a highly developed infrastructure, its own chain of command and armed forces, its own supply and logistics personnel. The goals of the White Legion, as of information known up to now, are as follows:

  • Overthrow of any Government that is not of Taraskovyan Orthodox faith.
  • Instauration of a Grand Russian Empire on the territory of Tarasovka.
  • Instauration of Taraskovyan Orthodoxy as State Religion.
  • Elimination of all elements capable of disturbing the process and/or prevent the White Legion from achieving its goals.
  • Elimination of all traces of communism from Tarasovka.
  • Exclusion, marginalization and isolation of all non-Slavic ethnicities from active role in society. The recent campaign of systematic killing of the Taraskovyan Elvish minority may suggest that the White Legion has plans of ethnic cleansing and genocide towards the non-Slavic ethnicities.

It should be noted that the Vigvar Patriarchate condemned the activities of the White Legion and called on the organisation to disarm.

Means

Weaponry

The White Legion is perfectly well armed and uses the whole range of firearms, including heavy personal weapons as well as a limited arsenal of light armour vehicles.

General level of formation

Due to the presence of former and active military servicemen and police officers in the organization, the White Legion features a high level of combat training and efficiency. The recent events at Ekaterinburg indicate that the White Legion is developing new tactics and strategies to meet their objectives.

Means of operating

The White Legion tends to operate covertly, but does not hide from open actions. The combat personnel of the White Legion is organized in small groups of a dozen people that are constantly coordinating their actions in order to achieve maximum battle efficiency. Combat units tend to operate in densely populated areas, rendering any bombardment or involvement of ‘other means’ close to impossible, the only solution being the intervention of forces on the ground.
