• The World Bank is a defender region, and therefore exists solely for the protection of the innocent and for the deliverance of justice to those who are deprived of it. Nations interested in joining The World Bank should contact either the founder, Jahannum, or the Prime Minister. Nations interested in joining the CIA for espionage and counter-intelligence operations must contact the nation "The Geneva Convention."

The Governing Council

The Governing Council is the Executive Branch of The World Bank. It consists of three nations and has power over all other branches of the government. It also issues direct orders to the CIA, a region outside of The World Bank with the sole purpose of intelligence gathering. Decisions made by The World Bank must be favored by at least 2 of the 3 nations on The Governing Council before being passed. Members of The Governing Council are chosen by the nations of The World Bank through formal elections. Until further notice, Jahannum will always be a member of The Governing Council.

The Assembly of Nations

The Assembly of Nations is the lower of two chambers of The World Bank's governing body. Virtually any nation may join The Assembly of Nations as long as their nation has a population greater than or equal to 25 million, and they have at least one registered nation in the UN. The Assembly's powers include, but are not limited to, the impeachment of The Prime Minister or any member of The Governing Council, proposing resolutions to alter The World Bank's domestic and foreign policies, and providing advice to The Prime Minister and The Governing Council. The Assembly is moderated by a Speaker of the Assembly, who has the power to propose or veto any resolution, but does not have veto power over impeachments.

The Council of State

The Council of State is composed of six Councilors who are essentially the chief administrators of The World Bank. Councilors are chosen by The UN Delegate upon election. The six positions and their descriptions follow:

The Councilor of War - (vacant) - Responsible for assessing the region's military forces, ensuring that all nations are either registered in The Military or The Academy.

The Councilor of Foreign Affairs - Land of Serenity - Responsible for recruitment to The World Bank and for forming and maintaining alliances with other non-raider regions. This Councilor is also in charge of appointing Ambassadors in allied regions.

The Councilor of Communication - (vacant) - Responsible for making sure all new nations are properly welcomed and helped in any way they may need.

The Councilor of Internal Affairs - (vacant) - Responsible for making sure the laws of the Constitution are being followed and alleviating any form of internal strife between nations. This Councilor works very closely with The Attorney-General during hearings in the High Courts.

The Councilor of Intelligence - (vacant) - Responsible for ensuring the safety of the nations of The World Bank by looking for and reporting any form of suspicious activity in the region or the forums.

The CIA

The region "CIA" in NationStates is an agency of The World Bank and is headed by the nation "The Protectorate of The Geneva Convention." Although no nations are allowed to enter the CIA other than The Geneva Convention, multiple CIA spies are currently embedded in several raider regions and colonies around NationStates. No other information regarding the CIA or its missions may be posted due to confidentiality protocol. The stars below represent spies that are either currently working for the CIA (blue) or that have left the CIA after retiring, being caught or ceasing to exist (red).

The Military

The primary objective of The World Bank's Military is to defend The World Bank and its allies and agencies. The World Bank's Military has never, and does not plan to openly engage in warfare until all other options are exhausted. The World Bank's Military has yet to engage in a war and intends to remain neutral as long as possible. As The World Bank is a defender region, all of its counter-invasion and espionage operations have been and are being executed through the CIA, an agency of The World Bank with its own NationStates region. Qualifying for a position in the Military requires that a nation take a Military Examination administered by The Dean of The Academy, Jahannum. A nation's score on the Military Examination determines his position in the Military. Nations are strongly encouraged to join the Military and are not allowed to serve as members of The Governing Council, members of The Assembly of Nations, Prime Minister or UN Delegate until doing so.

World Bank Facts

• The World Bank, with 7 nations inside the region, 4 nations in outside agencies and 7 CIA spies, is an Empire of 18 nations. Recruitment has been fairly weak for the past few months, but legislation has been passed to increase recruitment funding.

• The World Bank is a defender region. This was decided UNANIMOUSLY by the nations of The World Bank on May 6, 2007. May 6th is, therefore, considered to be the birth of The World Bank.

• The World Bank forum is completely password-protected. No one may access the forum without registering and being approved by Jahannum.

• Jahannum was a member of The Special Forces for The World Bank when it was headed by the nation "Englandter." When The World Bank fell, Jahannum re-founded the region in honor of Englandter. Up to today, Englandter's principles have been a cornerstone of The World Bank's domestic and foreign policies.

• Chr Lerpol is the only agency of The World Bank that is completely open to the public. Nations directly entering The World Bank must register in the forums and be relatively active.

• The Constitution of The World Bank, from which a majority of the information on this page was taken, was written by Prime Minister RogueAlly. He is currently a member of The Governing Council and serves as The World Bank's Attorney-General.

• The SAS, another agency of The World Bank, is its primary special forces unit. So far, no nations have received SAS Certification. Funding for increases in SAS Certification will likely be passed in the near future.

• The World Bank has a new "Issue of the Week" every two weeks. A formal poll is set up every two weeks on the forum with a new issue regarding The World Bank's domestic and foreign policies. When polls are closed, the answer with the highest vote is immediately implemented into World Bank legislation. Issues have included gun control, marijuana consumption, universal health care, and the treatment of former traitors.
