Wuddup was founded in May of 2005, by its first president Justin Graham. Fed up by what he perceived as conservative regulation of his private life, along with liberal abandonment of the principles of free speech and minimal government intervention in consumer choice, Graham purchased large amounts of unclaimed land, and declared a new nation as a libertarian paradise. Graham originally intended to declare the new nation as '''Zitland''', and in anticipation, officially declared the national currency to be called the '''oxy'''. However, much to his chagrin, Graham discovered the existence of another nation with that name. As new residents flocked to the new land, Graham noticed that they often greeted each other with a friendly "Wuddup," a distortion of "What's up?". In honor of the easy-going nature of its citizens, Graham decided to name his country after its unique greeting. In his walks through Wuddup's forests, Graham noticed a distinct species of beautiful red and blue birds. He decided that these birds were worthy of the title of Wuddup's national animal. His regional accent, however, led to his public praise of the proud "Boids." From that moment, the Boid Bird was given its name, and designated as Wuddup's national symbol.

History

Wuddup was founded in May of 2005, by its first president Justin Graham. Fed up by what he perceived as conservative regulation of his private life, along with liberal abandonment of the principles of free speech and minimal government intervention in consumer choice, Graham purchased large amounts of unclaimed land, and declared a new nation as a libertarian paradise. Graham originally intended to declare the new nation as Zitland, and in anticipation, officially declared the national currency to be called the oxy.
