Before She Became President

Born in Aanjar, Nedalia's 2nd largest city, Yasmine Dala'a grew up in the working class neighborhood of Amarayn. Her father owned a few grocery outlets around the city, and her mother took care of her three brothers and Yasmine. She attended Adham Elementary School, and stayed in the public school system after enrolling in Mohammed Khaleed High School, where she excelled in all aspects and subjects.

Upon graduating from the University of Aanjar with a Bachelor's in Business Administration and a Minor in Nedalia History, she found herself working at one of the biggest corporations in the city, called the Faller Group, a construction/real estate project firm. At the same time, Nedalia was coming out of its self-imposed isolationism and entering the international community, something which Dala'a took a huge interest in.

With the Nedalia Liberal Party coming into power, Yasmine was among the majority of Aanjaraweh (plural for Anjari; a person from Aanjar) people who felt alienated but what they called the "elitist" administration based in Kafra. Just before the 2nd Presidential Elections, which Andrew Bren was re-elected in a landslide victory, many of the biggest businessmen in Aanjar had a secret meeting, agreeing to unanimously sponsor a candidate for presidency of their own. They chose a man called Das Dismark, an honest but uninspiring candidate who failed to gain support from even Aanjar.

After the failure during the 2nd Presidential Elections, it was Yasmine Dala'a who held the put the shattered pieces together, finding enough support from the local community to put forward a candidate of title of Mayor of the city, formerly held by the NPL, winning with a significant margin. Impressed by the work she was putting in, a 2nd major meeting was held, where the Nedalia Reform Party was born with Dala'a named as the leader.

Work was put in for the 3rd Presidential Election, and even though she was not expecting victory against the widely popular Andrew Bren, Dala's objectives of becoming a household name was achieved. In fact, analysts suggested that if it wasn't for Bren's popularity, the NLP would not be as successful as they currently were. They were right.

The Female President: 1st Presidential Term

Shortly into his 3rd presidential term, Bren passed away from illness, opening up the door for the 4th Presidential Elections. Experts figured that Dewars Strand, the Foreign Minister and NLP candidate, was going to win, albeit by a close margin, but it was Dala'a who won the majority of the votes, successfully becoming the 2nd president in Nedalia's history.

Although she supported Nedalia's involvement in the SDL, she thought the Nedalian government did too much for the international community and not enough for itself. Amidst the escalating tension, she improved the Defense Budget from $15 trillion to $25 trillion, and continued to further improvements on the Nedalian economy. While many doubted that the tax rate could stay the same with the increases to all aspects of the budget, bringing back dark memories when the tax rates skyrocketed during Bren's 2nd term, her administration managed to actually lower it a bit.

With the tension finally breaking out into war, Dala'a and her administration won praises for their preparedness, having turned the military and the economy into widely respected regional powerhouses. Polls suggested that 78% of the Nedalian people felt they had the right leader in power at the very beginning of the war, a good sign for Yasmine Dala'a.
