The Yen (¥) is the official currency of the Yen Block nations and many other nations inspired by Japan. The Yen is one of ¥€$ currencies.

In Eastasia, larger quantities of Yen are categorized by adding SI prefixes to the name. The Giga Yen is the official currency of the META Syndicate and several other Yen Block nations, though most keep the Yen.

The Yen has become mostly a digital currency in Eastasia, which allows companies to calculate with monetary values as small as a PictoYen (p¥, 10^-12 Yen), or even the YoctoYen (y¥, 10^-24 Yen) to do accurate financial calculations and calculate interest rates, monetary units that would otherwise be far less in value than any amount of metal of paper feasible to represent them as a physical, non-digital, currency. Different amounts of c¥, d¥ and ¥ are available as coins and paper money, as are larger amounts, usually up to the GigaYen (G¥) scale. Beyond that, digital transfers are prevalent again. It should be noted that no amount of money beyond the Peta Yen (P¥) has ever been transfered, and that no single entity or group in Eastasia holds more money than the Exa Yen (E¥), with the exception of the Emperor, who officially own the Yotta Yen by owning everything within his empire.

Name Prefix&Symbol Value Description
Yotta Yen 10^24 Yen The entire economy of Eastasia, including all resources, labour and territory, both privately owned or public (such as air or rain), are valued as 1 Yotta Yen. That is 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 Yen.

Giga Yen 10^9 Yen Still a large amount of money, however not an unaffordable price, and normally a piece of cake for the Zaibatsu. For comparison: an A6M120 space shuttle stands at 200 G¥. Employees demolishing an A6M120 are normally in a load of trouble, but generally, good employees are worth far more than this amount, so good employees won't get fired for this.
