Vessel specified by company design and evaluation corps to create an "ultra heavy" wall of battle core for counter super capital deployments.
Planing called for the Hammer of the Economy class to be equipped with 6,000+ super grandslam capable missile tubes and 60+ 650"cm Hellbores on a 5 kilometre frame. The design actually ended up with over 12,300 super grandslam capable missile tubes, with the hammers design though basically capable of close range combat with her very heavy broad side energy arms and hellbores still being primarily missile heavy in its armaments mix and with insuficient broad side ablatives to engage in prolonged engagements. The primary role seen for the hammer is therefore one of fire support and bombardment.
Build time is estimated at 5 years per hull using primary internal Megacity three yards, up to 12 years with commercial grade free floating yards or 8 years with company manufacturing modules. Cost is estimated at up to 48% of the naval budget over the next 20 years. Fiscal reviews may result in final units being cancelled. The hammer's drive units are of note being the first open to space "heavy" grav impeller drive coil units deployed by the ZMSF giving the hammer class an unprecedented (For the ZMSF) amount of manoeuvrability for her considerable mass. The hammer is the first ZMSF vessel to have internal full scale battlescreen reinforced bulkheads. Also notable are her 24 general bays which can be equipped for a variety of tasks including internal bolo brigade level transport and deployment.
