The region of Zakatha is one of the sovreign nations of NS.net. It is populated by elves (tall kind, not short kind). They are generally peaceful, diligent, intelligent, and religious. They also love to learn.
The government of Zakatha is a combination of theocracy and democracy. That is to say, there is one leader, whos rule is absolute. He selects a number of potential candidates for each public office, based upon their moral values, which must be high. The people then elect one of the potential officers.
Zakatha is small in comparison to other nations, but its military is a determined and well trained force of fanatics. No, this is not a contradiction in terms. Yes, I have RPed it out.
Zakathas economy is based upon capitalistic ideas. Although most citizens agree socialist concepts would be better, the philosophy known as the Tragedy of the Commons has convinced them that not everything can be governed in the most idealistic sense.
Zakathas national animal is the Hish, which is an odd creature composed primarily of bones and what apppears, on initial examination, to be fire.
Zakathas currency is the browno, the standard currency for all of the region of brownia.
Because the military models itself after the Valheru of old, the motto of the country has recently been changed to reflect this.
