Origins of the 12 Nations

The original inhabitants of what would become the USSZ were the Zinta, native peoples on the continent of Terra Zintarea. Over time, and under the rule of various monarchs, the society of Terra Zintarea evolved into a society, and became several different ‘modern’ nations. However, one problem arose, a problem that would change the nations forever.

Before that problem can be mentioned, we must bring to attention the fact that the continent of the USSZ was actually comprised of 12 different nations, ranging in ideology from democracies to brutal dictatorships. In the center of these diverse nations was the Principality of Terra Zintareas, and the cultural center of the continent, Leningrad. In the heart of this industrial juggernaut was formed a beast known simply as The Violekt Corporation. In the 1st Era, 1951, it was born, a simple banking clan. But soon, it had become an international economical juggernaut, buying up 93% of the land in Terra Zintarea, and in 1E, 1974, it united all of the nations of TZ under the name of the Incorporated States of Violekt.

The Iron Fist of Violekt Corp.

For 30 years, the Violekt Corporation ruled with an iron fist. The only description fitting of their rule was ‘iron fist consumerist state’. If one were to buy goods from another source, the Corporation would simply buy your home under the pretence of ‘eminent domain’. These and other tactics, like paid mercenary ‘enforcers’, would prove to be useful in the Violekt Corp’s takeover of the continent. However, some stood up and formed resistance groups. One group was to aid in the formation of the USSZ. They were called the Zintharian Worker's Party.

Founded in 1E1991, the ZWP worked tirelessly to bring down the Violekt Corp. through guerrilla warfare and open street war. During the 20th anniversary of the Violekt takeover, in 1E1994, 400 attacks occurred on Violekt property, killing or wounding 900 Violekt employees. It was made sure that those killed had willingly joined the VC, and weren’t just wage-slaves forced to work.

The End of Violekt

In the final five years of the Violekt Corporation’s 36 year rule, the Corp. was engaged in constant open revolution. It all started in 1E2005 when the ZWP instigated a worker’s revolution in the northern territory of Palift, which soon spread to the other territories. Many heroes served in the revolution, including Current Marshal of the USSZ GCOMM Cole, and SRLT Brezhnev-Rikkard. Finally, in 1E2010, Violekt HQ fell.

Post-Violekt World

Initially, the continent was split back up into the former 12 nations from the pre-Violekt era. But the workers of Palift, Finaän, Zintareäl, Moltavia, Meku, Prav, the State of Mauriten, Southern Palift, Leninistan, Terra Zintareas, Eknapazistan, and Colastavia were still mistreated. However, Justin D. Cole, then the President of Terra Zintareas, called a Zintarean Conference of the 12 nations, and proposed a bold idea.

Formation of the USSZ, 2E0001

In 1E2013, Pres. Justin D. Cole of Terra Zintareas proposed that the 12 nations of the Terra Zintarean continent unite into a single country, under the banner of socialism. This alliance became the United Socialist States of Zintharia, and with the blessings of the 12 nations, Justin D. Cole became the Marshal of the USSZ. He soon proclaimed a new era of freedom, and thus the new nation, with its capital in the renamed New Leningrad, entered the 2nd Era, in the year 2E0001.

The Dictatorship Scare, 2E0001-0002

Having created the first Zintharian socialist government on the continent, it now lay on the shoulders of Justin D. Cole to prevent the government from turning into another Violekt Corp. However, the nation was soon classified as a Corrupt Dictatorship by the UN, which the USSZ became a member of in 2E0002. Turning the nation around, Cole managed to reform the nation, and the USSZ was redefined as a Democratic Socialism. National pride was everywhere, and the military grew greatly.

For 4 years, GCOMM Cole led the USSZ through the typical struggles of a new nation. In 2E0002, the nation was inducted into the NS Communist Party Region, gaining innumerable allies. However, as the USSZ approaches the year 2E0005, Cole has reached the end of his term. Many candidates have expressed their desire for his seat, but only four had the power to actually get nominated by a majority vote in the USSZ.

The Four Candidates

In 2E0005, Four candidates were chosen by the voting populace of the USSZ as the top 4 candidates in the nation. They were as follows:

Grand Commissar Cole-First Marshal of the USSZ, and considered a Noble leader in the eyes of Socialist Realism painters. His visage is commonly seen in schools as a proponent of education. He was an isolationist, but in the later days of his Marshalcy he started the first foreign embassy section in the Capital.

Senior Lieutenant Peter Stalin Brezhnev-Rikkard-Fought in the Zintharian Revolution as a child soldier. Leading member of the Militarist Party of Zintharia.(MPZ) Planned on increased meddling in foreign conflicts and military spending.

Major Mikhail Lonieda-Head Commandant of Foreign Affairs Bureau under GCOMM Cole's Marshalcy. Wanted to open up the USSZ to foreign embassies and increase spending on diplomatic affairs.

Oleg Romanovsky-Minor candidate who hardly made the top four due to his poor leadership of the Zintharian Worker's Party in recent years. Hardly scraped out 2% of the vote.

The 2nd Marshal of the USSZ

In 2E0005, having led the nation through the early dictatorship scare and eventually, but not quietly, converting to a Democratic Socialist government, GCOMM Cole went up against 3 other candidates in the first continental election in the history of Terra Zintarea. The day of the vote came, and the 100 million voters decided that the next Marshal of the United Socialist States of Zintharia would be...

The Marshalcy of Lonieda

Major Mihail Lonieda won the most popular votes in the populace and the Duma, and was elected to the office of Marshal of the USSZ. Thus far, he has enacted legislation to decrease military spending and increase domestic spending. His first major crises was the large numbers of the populace, including Worker's Radio Zintharia host George Havenoor, decrying the issue of the military having only 500,000 active-duty and 9 1/2 million reserve troops. This was taken care of with the Demilitarization Bill of 2E0005, passed in his first 45 days. This cut the number of army troops to 2 million, while giving those who had been discharged jobs in factories, which aided in the economic revolution that was meant to jumpstart the economy.

As of 2E0005, Lonieda's Marshalcy has been outstandingly good.

Military History of the USSZ

The USSZ has a reputation in post-Violekt era history of jumping in and devoting forces to aid Socialist uprisings. Members of the Spetsnaz Airborne were sent to aid in the Tatom Communist War soon after the USSZ's entry into the UN. It was a failure for the USSZ, with no tactical gains made. Then, Grand Commissar Cole sent 200 Spetsnaz Airborne troops to aid the Verenburg COmmunists. As of the writing of this, they are still there after having lost 100 men in the jump and being forced underground by overwhelming opposition.

In one of his last acts as Marshal of the USSZ, Grand Commissar sent the entire 6th Army Division, 4th Spetsnaz Airborne Division, and the entire 6th and 7th Armor Corps Divisions, a grand total force of 20,000 men and 2,000 tanks. The 6th and 4th aided the Imperialist forces in their initial rebellion, but aided the People's War Group when the government passed racist laws against Oriental citizens.
