Current Events

In the on coming event that Empress Cally's 18th birthday a grand ball is going to be held. Prince Sei, age 2, is said to make an apperance at the start of the ball. It is not know how "grand" the ball shall be, or even who will be attending. It will be interesting too see if the Queen of Rastaban will be in attendence, given the sisters' rocky relationship. Or if any of her Rastabite family will be attending at all.

More speculation is how soon afterwards are the royal couple going to have their own child and not reate it, like Prince Sei was. Emperor Kratos and Empress Cally have promised to try for natural children once she became of age. With her 18th birthday growing nearer it will be interesting to see what happens.

History

Athan was founded by the daughter of Crispus, son of Constantine I the Great. Crispa, her mother and grandmother flead from Rome in 329 C.E. They feared Constantine would turn to his granddaughter and kill her too without justification. They went to the mythical Isle of Avalon where its inhabitants protected the princess and her family. She married a young Roman man by the name of Marius Julius Ascanius in 342. They departed Avalon with a large group found the land where they were going to set up their new nation. Athan's government wasn't offically set up until 347.

The current Emperor of Athan is Emperor Kratos, son of the late Emperor Radson V. For more information see History of Athan article.

Government

This monarchy is similar in tradition to France. The throne is inherited by the males, no females shall be the primary rulers of The Grand Empire of Athan.

Religion

Athan is full of devout Eru-Christians. Though the relgions promotes tolerance of other religions, it can be rairly found in Athan, though the people are good putting on faces that say other wise. You will notice that there are no large centers of other religious activity in Athan. If there are, all the churches/temples/etc. are grouped together, so a close eye could be kept on them in case they slip up.

Languages

Most often spoken languages in Athan are English, Elfin and Maori. The last too are due to the large settlements that appeared a couple of hundred years ago.
