Zelyana-79 "Watchman" Attack helicopter

The Zelyana produced attack helicopter is another design based of the Kamov "KA-50". Following moves for independent Arms Manufacturing the Chief Council began looking for a helicopter design that best suited the environmental conditions that face the Zhaskev's border patrollers. The KA-50 design was successful and as been adapted and independently produced.

Armament

The Zl-79 carries similar weaponry to the KA-50 in the means of a single 30mm chain gun carried under the fuselage but also holds twelve AT-12 Vikhr LGMs and up to eighty S-80 80mm rockets. Like the ZiL-86 its prefers ground targets but can be modified to hold AAMs if required.

Design

The dual main rotors eliminate the need for a tail rotor and have given Zelyana engineers the ability to substantially increase the torque produced to aid lift. This has proven especially useful in the rugged areas of Zhaskev's borders. It also now features a co-pilot position as pilots of the KA-50 were required to operate all components themselves. Like all Zhaskevian produced military hardware, it is built for Zhaskevian conditions and contains a number of unique features to enable optimal performance in alpine areas.
