LHS stands for the League of Hanseatic States, a name derived from the Hanseatic League of Europe in medieval times. It was the altered name of the New Nations Alliance, or NNA; suggested by The Zoogie People, which later came to regret the decision to change the name at all.

LHS lapsed into inactivity and was resurrected in mid-2004; it has since lapsed into reactivity again. For a more complete history, see New Nations Alliance.
