The [[Democratic Socialst Alliance]] under the stewardship of [[Lieutenant Michael Fletcher]] had a resurgance of popularity at the election following their crippling 1992/1993 and 1999 defeats as they specifically targeted declining ex-manufacturing areas. The [[Liberal Democratic Party of Maanenland]] had their support reduced as [[Maanenland First]] relaxed many laws and generally pursued a more liberal attitude. In seats where the [[Democratic Socialist Alliance]] posed a threat of taking a vital seat they allied with MF to ensure they did not get in power. The [[Maanenland Minority Movement]] however saw by far the greatest gains in the elections from people who felt left down over the governments lack of movement on protection of minorities and anti-immigrant policies.

Voting closed nationwide at 2359 MCT and votes were given to the local office of the [[Commission for the Lieutenancy of Maanenland]]. The first to declare was [[Bellefield]] just over an hour later at 1:01. Followed by [[Marysport Riverside]] fifteen mins later. Both results saw the [[Maanenland First]] party retain their seats in those constituencies.

As usual [[Royal Maanenland Broadcasting Corporation |RMBC]] were the official provider of exit polls polling in every single constituency for the first time. The results of these polls were out by just 2% nationwide and accuratly predicted the vast majority of the outcomes in each seats. For the first time also exit polls were done electronically and were available live for every lieutenancy area on the Internet.
