Controversy
Shortly after the Ariddian reporter crisis, the BtB company newsletter The Daily Profit claimed to have found out who Max Power really was. It was said that Max Power could be a former BtB employee called 'Homer Simpson', a man who disappeared under mysterious circumstances three months before the Backwardistani claim for independence.
This was countered through official channels, stating once again that Max Power was a native Backwardistani who had only taken the non-Backwardistani name to protect his identity and that of his family. At the same time, the distribution of foreign newspapers was outlawed and anyone caught reading or spreading news from a source that had not been authorized by the government could be sentenced to death.
