The Rolls of Grand Manses, commonly known as the The Grand Roll, is an extensive medieval tax assessment prepared in 1352 during the reign of Alfred I (r. 1349-1372) following the destruction of Peasant's War. The Grand Roll established the right of magnates and burgesses to meet with the king to discuss matters of taxation, thereby becoming one of Parliament's founding documents.
