A medium sized nation in the Southwest district of the Heartland region of NationStates, The United Commonwealth of Dashake is a rather military oriented nation. Bordered on the south by Cokekilan Strait, Virginia Nova to the east, Vassfforcia to the northeast, and Breenonia to the north. To the west lie the wastelands and wilderness that once was Mabulia.

Dashake, which was originally a loose confederation of states dependant on each other for both economic and military strength, was united over 50 years ago by one General Harford into the current Commonwealth seen today. With an emphasis on military and economic independence, he formed the current government around insuring these things. Upon his death, due to an unfortunate heart attack, he passed the reigns of the government over to his most trusted lieutenant, Field Marshal Jian Diasho, who then preceded to take on the title of Lord Marshal of Dashake. In this current government, there are three major Branches in charge: The Lords General, CEER, and JAG.

Industry The major industries of Weapons development and manufacturing, Automobile manufacturing, Information Technologies, and the beverage industry dominate much of the Commonwealth's economy. While there are other major industries in individual Districts of the Commonwealth, like the fisheries and seafood industries of the Southwestern coastal area or the mining operations in the Anath Mountain Range towards the north, they are still somewhat small compared to the major players.

Military As is apparent from the very nature of the Commonwealth's government, the Dashake Military is key to life in the young nation. The three primary branches of the military, the Commonwealth Defense Forces (CDF: also known as the Army of Dashake), the Navy of Dashake, and the Dashake Air Corps play major parts in the very operation of the Commonwealth. For all males between the ages of 18 and 25 there is a mandatory 2 year service time in any of these military branches with mandatory skill reevaluation on a yearly basis for the remaining 5 years. It is mandatory to serve for at least the two years if an adult (18+ years old) wishes to take advantage of some of the offered benefits of the government (holding any government office, tax benefits or medical services). Once an individual has served at least the two years, they have three choices ahead of them: get out of the military in order to get involved in the Private sector, stay in the branch of the military they are currently serving in or advance to the fourth branch, known only as PROJECT DARKHOUND, the Dashake Special Forces and Advanced R&D service.

Military Heirarchy All branches of the Dashake Military use the same ranks. The Navy calls any officer in charge of a full Battle Group 'Admiral' and any officer in charge of a single ship 'Captain' despite their actual rank.

Government Layout:

Lords General The Lords General are the Highest ranking officers in the Dashake Military, immediately beneath the Lord Marshal. They are in charge of the various Branches of the Military, as well as the Department of War and various other Departments in the Lord Marshal's cabinet. They insure that things run smoothly on the domestic side of things as well as the military, with the exception of the Economy.

CEER The Commonwealth Executive Economic Reserve, aka. CEER is the organization entirely in charge of the Commonwealth's economy. The infrastructure that it is built on may have been built by the Military, but it is now run by this organization made up of the CEOs of the Commonwealth's most prominant companies. For the smaller companies in each individual industry, they are able to select a representative between them to fill out CEER. The major players, Davis-Edwards Enterprises (Weapons), Andoran Arms Corp (Weapons), Kaae Motor Corp (Automobiles), Dashake Telecom (Information Tech) and Hunt Brewery (Beverage industry, creator of the Dashake Dark Ale) each have their CEO on the board, as well as three other representatives from each of their respective industries. Between these individuals, almost all economic decisions are made, passed up to the Lord Marshal and approved.

JAG The Judge Advocate General of Dashake. Much like the JAG devision present in most modern militaries, JAG of Dashake is responsible for the legal aspect of the Military, as well as maintaining law and order among the rest of the citizens. The highest position in JAG is held by Lord General Miaka Rho.
