Vladamir Koleshilikov (b. 1760, d.1817) was a Russian explorer who in 1803, after getting lost travelling in the Atlantic Ocean landed on the Castosas islands (now The Republic of Lambon). He never intended to stay but remained on the islands for 14 years, and died in 1817.
Background
Koleshilikov was born in 1760 in the area of "Санкт-Петербу́рг" (Saint Petersburg) in Russia. He became the most well known explorer in Russia by 1790. He was announced as a missing person in 1804 when he did not return from his newest journey. Infact he had landed on the Castosas islands (now The Republic of Lambon). He never intended to stay but enjoyed the people and the culture he remained on the islands for 14 years. He had apparently considered going back to Russia many times in this period.
