m (edit - there are FIVE Pacifics, not SIX)
(simplifed overly complex document. Individual region pages are now adequately informative.)
Line 1: Line 1:
A Pacific region is commonly referred to as any one of the five gigantic regions of nationstates with 'Pacific' in its name. All Pacifics are feeder regions and are often called 'super regions' because of their enormous size (each region has over six thousand nations). None has a founder.

What makes Pacific regions most unique from all other regions is the fact that they are known as the "birth" regions, because every nation in the game is created within one of those five regions.

It is commonly held wisdom that the Pacific regions are game-controlled regions because they were all created by the game admin. This is actually incorrect. Some of the Pacifics (the East Pacific for example) were founded by normal players and converted by the admin into game regions later.

Regions and terminology

Note: These are not the only regions with 'pacific' in their names. There are also regions known as simply North Pacific, South Pacific, etc.; the Northeast Pacific, the Southsouthwest Pacific; or even The Lemurian Pacific. None of these, however, have any of the characteristics that make the six regions above different from all other regions.

Often a Pacific region will be referred to in shorthand without the article "the" preceding it. For example, "South Pacific", instead of "the South Pacific", or "The South Pacific".
