Vendome Siderurgie Corporation is Montelimar's largest steel and refined metals producer. Established in 1858, it has come to dominate the industry in Montelimar and supplying the majority of these metels to to the many companies that require them.
Ship Building
With the advent of ironclads then steel hulled vessel, Vendome saw it's chance to enter the ship building business and in 1878 established the Mormant Shipyards and began producing high quality ships for both the merchant marine and Royal Navy of Montelimar.
Subworks
In 1928, Vendome opened the Bordeaux Subworks and today is the exclusive builder of the Royal Navy's submarine fleet.
