The International Maritime Standards Bureau was created on September 21, 2004 by the UN resolution 74, [Law of the Sea], with a votation of 10,656 against 4,684. Its main goal, as written on article 5, is set international rules on navigation, working hours and other matters it deems appropriate to ensure safety at sea.
