Zlevic is a common language on F'rama III, mostly found in the west. It stems from the main language of the Ancient Urallian Empire which spread its influence far and wide. However, such was the fall of the Urallian Empire, many countries that had used Zlevic quickly discarded it, usually to favour their original languages. It shares its name with the people of Zlavinia as this area is where both are said to have originated.

Zlevic is often described as a very passionate language; spoken softly it's often described as soothing and light on the ears, however, spoken, or shouted, in anger, and it delivers quite a powerful and threatening sound.

However, Zlevic has mutated slightly, depending on its location.

Modern Zlevic

Modernized Zlevic alphabet

Modern (or Modernized) Zlevic is the form of Zlevic found mostly in the PEEL region, especially in Zedoljev, but it is also an official, or common language in several other countries right around the region. It differs significantly from the Zlevic used by the Ancient Urallians due to Zedoljev's predicament during it's history. Inevitably, Zedoljans decided to alter the language to make it more similar to Anglosian - the predominant language of the region at the time. This mostly took the form of an alteration of the alphabet, but also included various influences and inspirations from other local languages. For most of its history, this "Modern" Zlevic was written phonetically, however, within the last decade, a review was made "on the state of the Zlevic Language" which attempted to change this so that the language was written using symbols - for example, in this case a random Zlevic name, Shyolitskaya would now be written Ŝëlişkaŷ which seemed very confusing but was an actual throw back to older Zlevic, and actually corresponded with the Common Zlevic alphabet - only using more Anglosian symbols.

Common Zlevic

Common Zlevic alphabet

Common Zlevic is effectively the Zlevic that endured in the Urallian Homelands even after the collapse of the Urallian Empire. It too had to go through some alterations and adaptations, but in recent years, there have been multi-national efforts to draw Common and Modernized Zlevic back closer in line with each other. This would probably be more successfully implemented in the case of Modern Zlevic, because Common Zlevic is so widespread in otherwise under-educated areas, it would be difficult to get those people to adhere to new rules. This of course has thrown into question what is "true" Common Zlevic, as some estimate that in the Urallian homelands there may be even more than fifty different local variations on Common Zlevic
