History

The Devinson Aircraft Corporation is an aircraft manufacturer from Kedalfax. It was founded in 1940 by James Devinson to make aircraft for the Kedalfaxian government. He later expanded into passenger aircraft. In 1955, the War Profiteer Act was passed, and Devinson was no longer allowed to make profits off of war aircraft. His was the only company to continue manufacturing war aircraft, though at a reduced rate.

In 1971, a problem with quality in the aluminum used in aircraft bodies riddled Kedalfax's aircraft sector. Thirteen cases of explosive decompression were reported in aircraft in 1971 alone. At the time, Devinson was the only company with any major quality control on their aluminum, and the only one to not use aluminum from New Athens area mines, which were notorious for having quality problems. Because of this, Devinson was the only company that was not involved in any of the cases.

Because of the vastly better safety record, the Kedalfax National Flight Corporation publicly decided to phase out all non-Devinson aircraft in 1972, with the process completed in 1974. The operation cost the company millions, but had the highest customer confidence rating in the nation by a margin of over 50%. Since then, KNaFCo has only used Devinson aircraft.
