Alónso is the second largest city of
Costa Bravo, located in the far northwest of the nation. In the days of Costa Bravo's infancy, under Spanish rule, Alónso was formally considered that colony's capital. The unruly inhabitants disagreed, and decreed
Tortuga as such. This contributed to the strife between the Spaniards and Costa Bravans, which in turn caused martial law to be instituted in Alónso. Inevitably, killings took place: an occurence of civil disobedience by civilians yielded the deaths of twelve people, called the
Two-ten Massacre of Alónso. This is credited with sparking the full-fledged revolution against the Spanish.
