Pre-President

Bianco comes from a distinguished family, and at least two of her ancestors had served on a Cabinet in the past. This background, ironically, worked against her, as many came to believe she had been elected solely because of her famous surname.

Before her election as President, Bianco was Minister for Justice. She was a member of the Security council, was a member of President Baron Aaron's administration, and had been involved with negotiations to end the Oubanarian War.

Presidency

Bianco was largely elected due to the recognition and influence of her past success as Minister of Justice. Her involvement as a negotiator in the Oubanarian War was another factor that aided her election. She presumably also was helped by her accomplishments as an advisor to Baron Aaron.

Additionally, the T'Laris family helped elect her, in return for a promise that Yiuop T'Laris would be elected to her councils for his job in attempting to defeat the Oubanarians.

Bianco ran under the support of the bulk of the Imperial Senate.

After the incident in Ouban, on iniative of Senator Xenrat Tyran, Bianco suggested for the dismantling of Free-Trade routes to make peace with the Liberationist Front who had been terrorising the Senate. The Front did not think this would make any difference and attemped to murder the President. The terrorists made two assasination attempts, both were foiled by the Imperial Guard.

Bianco was the one who instituted the vogue amongst the Senators of going to operas; it was joked amongst her political enemies that she enjoyed them because they were the only places where she could get any applause.
