Anahuac Mexitlico is a country located in the northernmost part of Saturnalia in the northern hemisphere of Wysteria, bordered at the southwest by Besser. It consists of two main large islands and the northernmost peninsula of Saturnalia.
The official name is Anahuac Mexitlico, but is also called Holy Empire of Anahuac Mexitlico in the western world. Among Mexicah the country is also referred as “the Empire on the Navel of the Moon” and “the Empire of the People of the Sun”
Anahuac Mexitlico is a Nahuatl name composed of the names of the island from where the Mexicah come and their city. Anahuac means “surrounded of water” and Mexitlico is “the place on the navel of the Moon”.
Government
Anahuac Mexitlico is a Teochratic Tributary Federation ruled by the Hueitlatonani (English: “the Great Speaker”, equivalent to an Emperor) who is an absolute monarch who rules with the help of a council of oligarchs and a council of elders (the leaders of every calpulli). It is Theocratic because the Emperor is considered the Supreme Priest of Ometéotl and receives the title of Quetzalcóatl, the precious twin which is one of the titles of Ometéotl. It is a tributary federation because as long as the calpulli send their tributes to the capital they are free to rule themselves according to their needs and traditions.
The current Hueitlatoani is Nahui Quiáhuitl Itzcuahtli Moctezuma, elected on 1987 after his predecessor passed away. The current Cihuacóatl (Enlgish: “snake woman”, equivalent to a Prime Minister) is Axayácatl Neopomani Nezáhual.
