Simonov-Pakhomov Blok

The Simonov-Pakhomov Blok(SPB) is a Centrist,Coocoo Nationalist Political Party in Coocoostan. The party was created in 2003 through the alliance of Yuri Simonov's Slavic Front Party and Andrei Pakhomov's Social Revolutionary Party. The Party exists largely on a platform of Coocoo Nationalism, including more autonomy to the Coocoo Autonomous Oblast. Despite this, the Blok also courts support from the ethnic Ondaks and Russians within the country and will attempt to gain more support in Ondakastan and the Capital Oblast in the next election.

Electoral Results

The party has so far contested only one election, on 1 November 2006,taking 9 percent of the vote in the Coocoo Autonomous Oblast, but because the oblast only has one seat in the 215 member parliamentary congress, the decent showing meant nothing, leaving the party bitter. The electoral plan for the next election will have Simonov run to become Premier of the CAO and Pakhomov run for president.

The SPB is supported by several celebrities within the country, inlcuding Actress Nadia Malenkova,Hockey Player J.P. Puhdahl and former General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Coocoo SSR, Dimitri Shalimov.
