Pacificain

The Allied States of Pacificain is a small, safe nation, remarkable for its complete lack of prisons. Its compassionate, hard-working population of 9 million enjoy extensive civil freedoms, particularly in social issues, while business tends to be more regulated.

The large government juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, Education, and Defence. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 19%. A substantial private sector is dominated by the Basket Weaving industry.

The government is avowedly atheist, the alarmingly racist TV show 'Bigtopians Say the Darndest Things' is a hit, tourists from around the world come to visit the country's famous rainforests, and citizens select which government department gets their income tax Pacs each year. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low. Pacificain's national animal is the Red Wolf, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Pac.

History

The Begining The Allied States of Pacificain were originally part of the nation of Pasamicain. Pasamicain was founded in 11B.C. The country then was a unity of many small tribes, four of those wre located on the island of Pacificain.
