History
Created by the government of the Commonwealth of Northern Congo to manage mining in the Commonwealth, SECN is one of two government owned companies in the CNC.
Services
SECN manages all mining conducted in Northern Congo, but does not actually do any real mining. Instead, it controls, by law, all mines and mining operations that extract more than 3 million US Dollars worth of material. SECN charges each of these companies a membership fee, which entitles them to vote at the annual meeting of SECN members. The top ten most productive members of SECN comprise the board of directors, which oversees the company.
