Liverpool England Glorious and Wonderful was adopted by Liverpool England's Parliament to be the nation's official national anthem on the 18th of March, 2006. It passed in parliament with an 86% majority, compared to a second national anthem proposal voted on at the same time (which also passed, but with only a 77% majority).

Lyrics

It is sung to the tune of Das Lied der Deutschen, the RL German national anthem.

English

The following is the English version of the song, which is sung to the tune, although the tune was originally made to fit German words. Certain words contain stresses and contractions compared to normal use.

Liverpool England, a glorious land; Glorious past, Glorious future Liverpool England, a glorious land; Glorious history, a wonderful place:

Wonderful people, wonderful families, Wonderful cultures and friends

Liverpool England, wonderful and glorious, Liverpool England, this glorious land

German

As German is also an official national language in Liverpool England, the original lyrics were translated into German for use as a national anthem, sung to the same music. "Vergangenheit" and "wundervoller" are contracted to fit the song.1

Liverpool England, ein prachtvolles Land Prachtvolle Vergangenheit, prachtvolle Zukunft Liverpool England, ein prachtvolles Land Prachtvolle Geschichte, ein wundervoller Platz

Wundervolle Leute, wundervolle Familien, Wundervolle Kulturen und wundervolle Freunde Liverpool England, wundervoll und prachtvoll, Liverpool England, dieses prachtvolle Land
