Symbol Assignment

Symbols are generally between three and five letters, though some are shorter and some contain numbers. Symbols are chosen before the company's IPO, and generally come from the company's name. Companies that have a common abbreviation will generally use that as their symbol. For example, AKI for Avery-Kade International, ASA for All-Simtropolis Air, and ABC for the Audland Broadcasting Company.
