This article uses the Questarian Dating System. For comparison, the Questarian calendar is now 1951 (56 years behind 2007). King-Emperor Alexander II is the current Head of State and Monarch of Questers and various other states in the Questarian Commonwealth. He is a King-Emperor; simultaenously a King of one land an and Emperor of many. Approximately, at last count, some 35 billion people pay taxes towards the King (although they are to him in name only). He is one of the most influential men in Questers, if not the most.

Birth and Early Years

Alexander was born, in 1909, to King Richard VI, his second son.

Education

At 17 years of age in 1926 he enrolled into the prestigious Imperial Naval Academy in Kure. He chose torpedo warfare for his specialisation. There he made a lasting friendship with Lord William Rosecrans, Marquess Eeasen of Hamptonshire and various other important officials. He graduated in 1930 and, with his father Richard VI still strong at the helm of governance, took up various positions in charities, namely the Christian Education Fund that provides education for several billion Questarians up to primary level. The King once said "to be charitable is to be Christian... it is a shame more people do not understand this."

Political and Religious Views

The King has strong political and religious views. He is a strong Questarian Protestant, and also an outspoken critic of Islam and Atheism. It is said His Majesty strongly detests Communism, Socialism, or any form of Statism - this isn't odd in Questers. However, he has also voiced opinions about laissez-faire free market capitalism, calling it "the lesser of three evils" and has said before he is "worried" that Questarian tradition is being eroded by the quest for money. He does however strongly support free trade. While the King does not interfere in politics he has voiced opinions regarding gay rights ("A society that panders too far towards Liberalism and too far from their God will soon forget by whose graciousness said Liberalism is delivered from..."). He has criticised Questers lack of safety laws for its workers.

The King has never made an official statement on the rights of blacks in Questers; who can not vote or own firearms (which is considered a staple of Questarian culture). However, it is reported he once said "I suppose if God wanted it..." but it is not clear whether this quote was taken out of context in regards to the black population by the Socialist journalist, though it did cause a considerable stir amongst the 400 million Afro-Questarians. It is also said that the King despises the feminist movement as much as he does the Communists, calling the Feminist leader Sarah Lennon a "Bolshie puppet... redder than the blood in her veins" and once, when drunk, suggested she was infertile, and possessed by the devil.

Personality

The King is loved amongst the working classes for his notable charity donations (he has funded the construction of six schools for factory workers and has chartered hospitals for mine workers) and his friendliness and respect towards people of the nation. He is often seen touring mines, factories, and mills, inquiring into the well being of his citizens and scolding establishment owners for lack of safety and disregard for health. He has said in the past that "any man... dirty or clean, yellow or white, prole or aristocrat, is in my eyes my equal, as long as he worships the same God as I..." On Christmas day the King, to the astonishment and disgust of many top aristocrats, bought a turkey or a goose for every family in Questers that could not afford one.

In private, he is said to be an arrogant, though honest and sharing, character. He is quite partial \
