Politics

Politics of Alied Rage Against The Machine are heavy influenced/completely based on the politics of the band Rage Against The Machine. Rage's politics were generally "leftist". Left-wing politics are usually those concerning the working class, the environment and and a fair, just manner of collective coexistence.

The "machine" in question can be quickly defined as the state propaganda system of media, corporations, and government. It can just as easily mean any form of illegitimate authority. As Tom Morello says: "The machine can be anything from the police in the streets in Los Angeles who can tear motorists from their car and beat them to a pulp and get away from it, to the overall international state capitalist machinery that tries to make you just a mindless cog, and not to think critically and never confront the system , and to just sortof "behave" and look forward to the next weekend and next six pack of beer."

"Rage" directed at the machine means demonstrating, by any means necessary, one's dissatisfaction with the status quo.
