Anarchism is the political theory that coersion and hierarchy are immoral and ineffective. It is a form of socialism that rejects government. Instead, direct democratic structures are used to manage both political and economic affairs (though some forms of anarchist theory don't reject markets) usually known as communes and worker councils (or free soviets).
