Aliana is democratic, but it retains the royal family that used to rule the country. Technically, the Queen still holds the most political power, but that's really just tradition- no one believes it to be true, because it isn't. Anita is, however, a symbol of the country's history, and her position does give her a fair amount of political sway.

Anita is a fair, charismatic, handsome woman who makes no attempt to hide the fact that she is aging. She is married to prince Edward, 36, who used to be one of the top-ranking chess players in the world. They have two children; six-year-old Prince Edward (jr.) and two-year-old Princess Amelie.
