This page contains information on the current football team of the People’s Democratic Social Republic of Ariddia. The team is not currently competing in the World Cup.

Like several other organisations in Ariddia, it is known as "les Rouge-et-Noirs", in reference to its colours, which are also the national colours.

Players

Players to watch out for include Sandrine Leduc (#1), Frédéric Clément (#8), Yves al Jahdali (#9), Ue Alt (#12), Ta I (#17) and E Lel (#20).

Sandrine Leduc

Number: 1 Position: goalkeeper Gender: female Age: 24

A tall woman, with long blond hair, and green-blue eyes. Though she has earned the right to be considered Ariddia’s top goalkeeper, facing international competition will be an extreme test of her abilities. Though skilled, she lacks experience. Her country has been absent from the international stage too long.

Leduc wears the captain’s armband whenever Alt is not playing.

Clémentine Ramirez

Number: 2 Position: forward (substitute) Gender: female Age: 18

E Te

Number: 3 Position: defence Gender: male Age: 23

Ludovic Hue

Number: 4 Position: goalkeeper (substitute) Gender: male Age: 22

James Fields

Number: 5 Position: defence (substitute) Gender: male Age: 19

Uol Lat

Number: 6 Position: midfield (substitute) Gender: male Age: 24

Kolo Kouassi

Number: 7 Position: defence (substitute) Gender: male Age: 20

Frédéric Clément

Number: 8 Position: forward Gender: male Age: 22

Traditionally, Ariddian football has always relied quite heavily on its leading forward pair – the most famous being Raphael and Myrtille Ford, and their predecessor Terry Singh. So all eyes will probably be on Clément and fellow forward player E Lel (#20).

Clément has dark brown hair, and a youngish look – younger even than his years. He is quite charismatic, with a quick grin and a friendly attitude towards journalists – and people in general.

Yves al Jahdali

Number: 9 Position: defence Gender: male Age: 23

al Jahdali, tall, impassive-looking, with fairly long black hair and dark eyes, is said to be the cohesive force behind Ariddia’s defence, and is expected to play most matches. In the early years of the Cup, Ariddia’s weakness was often its defence, a weakness later remedied but which may spring up again with a new, young, inexperienced team. al Jahdali is there to limit the risk of that happening.

Ismail Faraj

Number: 10 Position: forward (substitute) Gender: male Age: 18

Jean Kitenge

Number: 11 Position: defence Gender: male Age: 22

Ue Alt

Number: 12 Position: midfield; captain Gender: male Age: 24

The team’s captain – an Indigenous Ariddian with light brown skin, somewhat ruffled-looking brown hair, and serious green eyes – is only the third person to captain Ariddia’s football team, after Michel Boulanger and Ranjit Khan. Thus it will be up to Alt to pick up where his predecessors left off. He is seen as a capable leader, liked and trusted by his team-mates, but, like the rest of the team, he is sorely lacking in experience faced with the best nations in the world. . .

Peter Roberts

Number: 13 Position: defence (substitute) Gender: male Age: 23

Tim Wald

Number: 14 Position: defence Gender: male Age: 20

André Delherbe

Number: 15 Position: midfield (substitute) Gender: male Age: 19

Anan Bounthaiyavong

Number: 16 Position: defence (substitute) Gender: male Age: 21

Ta I

Number: 17 Position: midfield Gender: female Age: 19

I, an Indigenous Ariddian, is a versatile player that some are already comparing to Ranjit Khan despite her young age. Although not as talented perhaps as some of her team-mates, she is expected to be a solid, reliable presence on the field, with an ability to adapt to a variety of situations and defend as well as she attacks.

Phillip Lukeson

Number: 18 Position: defence Gender: male Age: 21

John Sanjeeb

Number: 19 Position: midfield (substitute) Gender: male Age: 19

E Lel

Number: 20 Position: forward Gender: male Age: 20

Lel will be leading the attack along with Frédéric Clément (#8), and will be trying to live up to the past models set by previous attacking duos in the history of Ariddian football. Lel has darker skin than most Indigenous Ariddians, dark hair, and is slightly shorter than most of his team-mates.

Michael Swimmer

Number: 21 Position: midfield Gender: male Age: 22

Karim Chem

Number: 22 Position: goalkeeper (substitute) Gender: male Age: 22
