Introduction

This is the Friendly Aliens version of the Roudland Archer Communication Network. The long name for the Battle Matrix is the Friendly Alien Battlefield Co-Ordination Matrix. It was made using the Archer Communication Network as a basis then was adapted to suit Friendly Aliens' needs. Therefore they are both fully compatible with eachother but there are some things which are different in the Battle Matrix.

Similarities

Almost Equal Level of Accessibility- The Battle Matrix is accessible to anyone with the right tools to access it. However unlike Roudland, Friendly Aliens doesn't give all its personnel access to the AX-10 helmet or recently introduced Battle Visors. Normal GIGA squads have to rely on the commands coming from HQ or their squad leaders, instead of all being given helmets. The reason for this is because of cost and security reasons. However all Stellar Guard Marines and LADF personnel who need it are all given access to either a Battle Visor or AX-10 helmet because their co ordination is very important to the Friendly Alien military.

Use of Touch Tables- Friendly Aliens also uses touch tables to help troop movements. Autarchs normally found in a Command Carry-All's will use the touch table in a similar fashion to a Roudland commander would use it at a HQ.

Control of Weapons and Equipment- Just like Roudland soldiers who could control for example a GMG in a vehicle from the outside using a link with Archer. Friendly Aliens can control certain things using the Battle Matrix however the amounts of things which have been made controllable have been severley restricted for security reasons again. But some examples which are accessible are things like security doors, access to cameras on aircraft, access to cameras in other areas like field bases and access to satellite imagery.

Equipment

There is various equipment which is used with the Battle Matrix.

-Battle Visor

-LDC-08 Longrange Communication Relay

-MM-09 Wrist Mounted Matrix Interface

-AX-10 Helmet

-MT-06 Bradenborne Matrix Interface Table

-MR-02 Matrix Relay

-FAAFS-02A Battle Matrix Satellite

-M-BMMR12 Back Mounted Matrix Relay

Security

The security of the Battle Matrix is of the utmost importance to the Friendly Alien Armed Forces. Therefore many precautions have been taken to ensure its security.

The main servers for the Battle Matrix are found in the heart of Friendly Aliens. They are very heavily guarded and they do not have direct access to the internet.

Then next along the line are the Intermediate Stations. These complexes are buildings full of hundreds of Friendly Alien computer experts. They assess the information which come from the sources of intelligence (satellite, spies, hacking division etc) and make sure it is genuine and clean before they upload it to the main servers. Also in these Intermediate Stations they have clones of the main servers which do have access to the internet and these are the sources of information which are accessed by personnel on the field.

These clone servers are heavily monitored to make sure the information is read only by Friendly Alien personnel. There are viruses implanted into the servers which automatically upload to any device which tries to read the information. Friendly Alien interfaces have automatic immunity to such viruses but anything which isn't Friendly Alien is scrambled beyond further use.

The information travels along a secure satellite network which is made specifically for the Battle Matrix so information cannot be interfered with on transit.

The personal interfaces themselves need password verification to be used before they even begin to access information in the clone servers. Users will only be given access to information they will need and access to systems they will need, generally the higher the rank the more that is available to the individual.

If an interface is declared compromised it will automatically be locked out of the system and will never be given access again unless it is recovered and cleared for use.

All these measures are taken to ensure that only the right people have access to the information they need. If an enemy ever had access to all the information available on the Battle Matrix the damage could be incredible. But luckily this will never happen.
