The Battle of Buk was fought between forces of the Coocoostan Military and Coocoo Liberation Front on 25 February 2007, the first battle of the Coocoo Uprsing. The CLF fighters repulsed the initial CM advance but were soon defeated by the BMPs moving in as a second wave. The battle garnered widespread criticism from within and outside the military, due to the number of civilians killed and the general lack of co-ordination amongst the CM forces. It would be over a month before the CM attempt an advance north.
