This was an attempted thrust by Lord Marót's trapped North Western Army to link up with the Phonetican Army in the south. However, it turned into a defeat when Vegoscan himself arrived at the head of an army and defeated Marót although his last stand is regarded as a fine point during the war for Phonetica. The battle was the last fought by a purely Phonetican Army in the north of the old Empire.
