Bellvadere is a province in western St Samuel. The province borders Mount Francis Province, Mont-Canisi Province, Port Derbyshire Province, Malberg Province, and Richtenburg Province. The provincial capital is Oskalily. The current Lord Protector of Bellvadere is Sir Marcus Reigo-Andervillacci. It's five largest cities are Oskalily, Dupré, Westdale, Christiansburg and Saint Tarina.

Bellvadere is known for its alpine and mountainous features.

History

King Eades I of St Samuel gave the lands to Lord Ugo Bellvadere in 146 AD, making him Lord Protector of Bellvadere. The province resisted the Protestant Reformation in the 1500s, remaining faithful to the Roman Catholic Church.

Physical geography & Climate

The province of Bellvadere is located in the west of St Samuel. The province borders Mount Francis Province, Mont-Canisi Province, Port Derbyshire Province, Malberg Province, and Richtenburg Province

The wide, glacial Daphora valley dominates the area. There are many side valleys which branch off the main valley. These vary from narrow and remote to reasonably populous and popular. Fifty of the mountains exceed 4,000m with the highest, Monte Christina, reaching to 4,638m (15,217ft), and there are numerous glaciers.

Economy

Wine production and tourism are some of the main industries of the province. Apart from tourism, agriculture is still important, particularly cattle breeding in the mountains and dairy farming in the plains. There are also a large number orchards in the area, and saffron is also gathered here.

Near Westdale there is a large plant of aluminium manufacturing. Other metal products and chemicals are produced around Westdale and Agnes. There is an oil refinery in Salcroix.

The mountainous province has a plethora of ski resorts, which have become world renowned.

Transportation

Bellvadere has one major international airport, Giuseppe Van Marques International Airport in Oskalily, but the main routes of transport are rail and road. Both networks are extensive and benefit from tourism. Because of the tourism there are many mountain railways and cable cars in the mountains.

Sports

Football and skiing are the most popular sports in the province, with ice hockey, basketball and other winter sports also commanding large followings.
